I have 2 x Turnigy 4000 mah 3s 11.v batteries as recommended by HK - can a higher mah battery be used without causing damage to the motor/esc

To connect the 2nd battery would the "XT60 Harness for 2 Packs in Series" but fitted with Deans connectors instead,  same as the one fitted to the ESC inside the hull

If u want to increase the mah, u should connect the batteries in parallel, in series if u want it to be 6s. Hope it helps

Ref the pics for the osprey - showing the insides - how can i fix the bracket that holds the servo to the hull ?

and is the metal rod provided supposed to be inserted from the inside of the boat thru the small hole in the thru the rubber grommet which then connects to the rudder - ?

Is the bracket broken?

If the servo platform is ok (picture #5, lower right where the rudder wire is) the servo fits on that platform, servo arm facing the middle of the boat.  The servo ears fit in the slots.  I hold my servo in with plastic tie straps (zip ties or whatever you want to call them).

Yes the servo control rod goes through the rubber boot (which helps keep the water out).

I'm disappointed with this boat.

Bought one and realised as soon as I put it in the water it is WAY underpropped.

I had to purchase a Octura X648 (the 6 series are a medium to high lift prop to get the nose out of the water as this boat runs wet as) to get the thing moving somewhat half decent and jump on plane.... the problem then was that there was no way I could use my 5s or 6s batteries with that ESC and motor combo to actually get some decent speed out of it as it was getting quite warm on 3s at this time.

The motor is a little too high a KV (1600 - 1900kv would be better) and probably should  be a 45mm or 50mm to drop some load from spinning a 45-48mm prop which you need to get the boat to move properly.

This way the standard 120amp esc should be reliable up to 4s on a 48mm prop and the boat would be decent for a A-RTR unlike now where the prop is too small to get the boat up properly.

I ended up swapping the motor and ESC to a  lower KV Neo motor and a 240amp ESC and the gun showed a speed of 86.42km/h. (It was a fairly calm day, not too much chop and was on 5s Nano's)

I've since sold it to a friend of mine as the hull is way too wet for my liking... ( I prefer my V-hulls to ride pretty much just on the prop instead of almost all of the hull )

edit:   I should add that IMO, the motor in this boat... the leopard 2200kv 40mm (diam) should be put into the Pursuit Brushless instead as the pursuit comes with a motor not up to scratch.   Friend of mine uses my old leopard from the Osprey I had in his pursuit on 5s and it will reach its hull limit in speed (when it starts to chime, which is at about 80km/h) on an X442 prop.. great boat that one.
