I followed the manual's instruction for charging a 9.6 volt transmitter battery and when I
select start, I receive an error message that states no connection. I tried the same with a NIMH battey too and get the same error message. What is it that I am doing wrong?

Go to the user options. Select it and you will see Lipo. Press Start and you can change between Lipo, LION, and LiFE.

This means you have a bad connection between the charger and the battery. Check the leads you are using. If it has a servo type connection on the battery, make sure you are not plugging it in backwards.
