I seem to have misplaced the one that came with the kit, and i can't seem to find any spares in the kit either, can anyone confirm? Also if anyone has any recommendations on an alternative while i wait for a new pinion to be shipped out that would be awesome!
Thanks

my 250 needs to be glued on , is your pinion tight on the shaft if it is you can use red loctite and it wont go anywhere |

nope that's the problem! i have some new pinions that will fit on the way, but i wanted to test idle up etc on it and get the heli all setup while i wait for it to arrive! i'm using the turnigy 2627-4200kv motor so it has a 2.3mm shaft, and you get the 2.5mm pinion by default!

Have a look at the Firefox parts, there are a selection of 2.3mm pinions that fit the motor. Here is a link for 1 of them.

Ah I found a pinion locally in New Zealand for $4 from Hangarone.co.nz
It was a press on one, had to cut the 2627-4200kv shaft down with the dremel, then used red loctite and the vise to press the pinion on. its stayed put for a few flights now, here's hoping it stays that way |

I cut a small square out of my red bull can (yes it was getting very late...). Wrapped it around the axle and used a pair of plumber`s plier to press the pinion on. It was a tight fit, but i don`t even need the grub screw now. Make the can square a bit higher than the axle, and cut of the exessive after pressing. Makes it easier to enter the pinion on the axle. Happy flying!!!!
