Read the entire thread. Open up assemblies and rebuild where needed. Bin the swash. This is not a beginner heli. You need real experience with 30/50 - 550/600 class helis and how they are supposed to go together.

Hi all, second post!
Received my HK600GT yesterday. Only problem appears to be off centre machining on the base of the main shaft but it runs true. Every thing (so far) seems to be good. I mentioned in my first post (other forum) that I paid attention to the tools I was using to break all of the threads. Some threads tested even very high quality allen keys and I can't find one that will fit the swash plate linkage ball (50B050) tightly enough to trust breaking the tension without rounding the internal hex.
Sorry to waffle: point is to tell newbies that fist class tools are a must (I have learnt from bitter experience)This is a truly excellent kit and must be nurtured to perfection.
I owe Nuttcaze a big thank you for your videos, they have got me back in to the hobby.
I agree not a kit for a beginner unless you have support.

Well he just maiden the 600 today... a little tweeking still, but am happy with my heli.
I just got to get this off my chest about the HK 600 GT. I am sick and tired of all the pissing and moaning about the heli...some of the ppl sound like spoiled bratts. Bitchen about this and that.... Damn a little effort on your part help u to get to know the heli... get your hands on it... take it apart... put it back together.... so u have to replace some things... sand the frame.... I can remember when ( before RTF and ART models ) when u really had to build it before u could fly it.... buck up and ...... well thats all ai'm going to say...
I enjoyed taken it apart... loved it...
Anyhow It was a good day....

Great stuff Bob. Half the fun is fixing things and a little engineering. Congrats on the maiden.

Mine now has 25+ flights.
I did exchange (before the first flight:
main gear (wobly)
tail gear (just to be safe, but looked OK)
landing gear (5th landing was to hard on the plastic :-))
flybar cage (binding, could be solved by shimming)
paddles (heavy raptor paddles to make it more docile, after all I am a beginner heli pilot ;-))
swash plate (original had far to much play and a bad bearing)

equiped with align tail servo and gyro 620/780, futaba 9252 @ swash plate

Until now, now wear is showing, though the feathering shaft dampners are very soft (OK for me, I use low head spead at 1850 rev.)

All in all, a very good helo for me.

Done a maiden withg mine and found the head speed v fast with a 15 t pinion , it flies weel with about 30% power. 10t pinion tends to want to chew up the main gear due to the greater angle of attack at the meshing point,
re the landing gear splaying , I put a couple of cable ties accross the landing skids , not very pretty but helps.
Tail slider bush was broken before first flight .
Changed swash , very loose.
They should put feathering shaft dampers with thye spare feathering shafts.
flies pretty goof but my 500 is better .
Rob

I must remember .... when inverted .... down is up and up is down .
