Guys.
We have seen some complaints from various customers over the last 2 weeks about the HK600GT.
I have spent some time reading through alot of forum posts, but still find it difficult to pinpoint issues. Keyword being pinpoint.
I have seen comments about bearings and gears, but has anyone confirmed the issue or better yet, do they have photos or a diagram which can explain the issue more clearly?

I have a meeting with the factory owner tomorrow and will take any accurate comments or pictures you may have to show them.

I want to have this rectified as quickly and efficiently as possible, so please, leave the emotions for other threads.

Hi Jason,
Nice to hear from you again.
The problems I have had so far are.
1/ head pins to short.   ( moved out to 23mm)
2/ flybar rods to short or the recess was to deap on the
flybar control arms.    ( needed to be shimmed)
3/ washers missing on the washout arms.     ( fitted these)
4/  autorotation gears out of round so they could not be rotated
without binding .   (replaced with align gears)
5/ double punched hole on the tail of the boom.

Jason there are other things but let someone else have there say on this.
also I am happy with my HK600gt as I have said before and like others I
would like some help with some parts that are good.
Thankyou,
                 fitzy.

Hello Jason,

.....I think for most issues, photos are not directly necessary

Mistakes on my kit:

-bent mainshaft
-oval and wobbling plastic gears (drive and autorotation gear.
-some of the metal frame mainshaft bearing holders was not nicely round inside, so this give and damaged the bearing by assembling.
-tail case, the alu supports between the 2 tailunit sides are to short, this give pressure when you screwed tail case together and damaged the tail bearings.
-tial hub, center hole bored out of center and tail hub ends to short
- scrap plastic links
-flybar assembly is binding around the seesaw holder (bearings).  Flybar unit needs to become wider to avoid this.
-also here bad frame tial unit pulley.
-some "cracking" bearings overall
-parts with no locktite and parts died in locktite.

So, away from some small other things, these are the headline issues for me and for most others.

I was one of the first HK600kit orders together with Aeolus nitro 50 kit order.  Please, speed up the Aeolus parts.

I'm still happy with Hking and even now with that HK600, a bit negative now was the extra dollars to make the kit OK.Wink

Hope this will helps yours.

Best regards,

Tamiya - Belgium

Hi
Problems on my kit are the same as Tamiya plus a few more..........

Oval and wobbling plastic gears
Tail drive gear slipping on shaft.
Metal frame mainshaft bearing holders  not  round inside, bearings loose.
Tail case, the alu supports between the 2 tailunit sides are to short
Tail hub, center hole bored out of center and tail hub ends to short
Scrap plastic links undersized control rods
Flybar assembly is binding around the seesaw holder  the recess was too deep on one of the  flybar control arms. Flybar control arms snapped.
Poor  "cracking" bearings overall
-parts with no locktite and parts died in locktite.
Elevator control arm touching main shaft.
Rudder control rod running in metal guides.
Fair amount of slop in the swash bearing.
General poor quality control, bearing recesses different depths in main blade and tail blade holders. Incorrect assembly of head on tail thrust bearings and no grease.

I have spent well over $100 on align parts to make this kit flyable.

Unfortunately I have been let down by the 4mm deep bearing floating in a 2mm recess in
my KD600L motor. Burnt out the 100A pentium esc. Another story?
I have pics if you want them.

Not feeling any customer satisfaction at the moment

Okay guys, thanks for the information.
it seems like the same issues.
I will speak to the factory tomorrow about this and see if they can;
a) Sort the issue out
b) provide replacements.
I will keep you posted.

Please do not email us about this, the email staff are not aware of these issues and will just direct you back to this very forum.

What this space.

hi jason
if you need scheme or picts have a look at this page

i agree with eveything above, plus

- feathering shaft with wrong dimensions( i have to use lathe to trimm it down plus reverse the trust bearings ( in and out ) to have main blade holder free on movement
-for the flybarcage, the easy way of correcting it is to put 4 washers ( 0.3mm thick)one for each end of each bar
-plastic links are too short please make them 1mm longer, will give more thread to screwin
-and off course a "decent tail drive gear assembly" not the one that could slip by turning it by handWink

that's all for the moment

MANY THANX for taking care of your customers jason

cheers
xav

Request: Ask factory to NOT use loctite/threadlock in assembly. Don't expect HK to threw in a small bottle of T43/med TL given your low prices.

ALIGN's 600's assembled parts have bolts loosely threaded for quick thread check and proper TL by owner. And even ALIGN screwed up with TL on the rear rotor but no grease on thrust bearing. The rear rotor are plastic so heating the recessed bolt is not a good idea; had to force it out, luckily nothing snap.

Jason,
Firstly: Tail drive gear on mine also has insufficient straight knurl depth on the shaft.... the "factory" Clown compensated for this by glueing it to the shaft ... we all know what happens when we lose tail rotor control... especially on a heli this size Ouch... so I replaced with Align part tonight.

Secondly: Obollox may be off the mark with the "tail hub ends to short" issue.  I purchased the Align tail hub and still had insufficient end float with the HK bearing stack.. the Align part measured same stub length as the HK part.  So the cure was achieved by machining the bearing seats .005" to .010" deeper in the HK grips.

You will obviously be prioritizing your list of complaints for the blatant safety issues highlighted in this forum.
So thanks, and keep us posted.

My buddy crashed his HK600 due to the slippage of the tail drive gear.  His loss was so substantial that he decided to trash the HK600 buy a Trex 600 ESP instead.

There no way I could post any pic here.  Pls check out the post at: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showpost.php?p=14659438&postcount=709

There is hot discussion about this heli at RCgroups forum.
