Hi all
Until visiting this forum yesterday i hadnt heard of "airboats" and i must say they sure look like fun. I decided to have a go at making a cheap and quick mock up out of some poly foam. Im sure it shows but i didnt do any plans for this i just cut the foam and started gluing it together to resemble something that looked like a boat. Whilst making it i was about to work out how to fit a rudder then thought why not mount the motor on a moving part controlled by the servo instead of having a rudder. I know its not fantastic but only took a couple of hours to make and thought if it runs ok ill make a nice one out of a more suitable material. Stuck it in the bath and it sits quiet nicely, on laminate flooring it moves quiet quick and turns responsively. Cant wait to get it on the lake lol |

i have a large one made from a 109cm boogie board a blower motor and a big timber prop about 400mm
i use 2 rudders and keep all electronics in an air tight container on top it works Mint on dry grass water sand etc i used an old sign to form the mount for motor and the rudders |
