just an update..
one of my 4s, 5000mah, 30c lipos won't stay balanced.. TWO of the cells self discharge a fair amount (0.3v in about 2 weeks?) while another cell seems to loose 0.1v, while the last one remains charged... I had it on balance charge yesterday for 8 hours at 2.5amp.. its still not balanced.. |

FML!!!! i just ordered a turnigy 3s 5000mah 25c lipo battery. i thought i would give it a try since the prices were so low. the reviews on the page of the lipo seemed pretty good. but now that i read all of these i am regretting not spending the extra cash to get a quality brand lipo. but i guess i will not know if the battery is crap or not until i recieve it and try it out.

I'm wondering, if you or anyone else who bought a turnigy 2200mAh 3S lipo battery, what type of discharge connector it was? I bought a couple, on back order still but I don't know what type of connector to buy to convert it to my plane. It looks like an XT60 connector but can't tell from the picture. I emailed HK but they can't tell me either. Can anyone help me? Male or female connector but what type.
thanks.

it comes with an XT60. all their smaller batteries have the XT60 connectors now, except I removed mine, and replaced them with deans copies. I hate deans. http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=9572 |

Flash!
Yet another Turnigy bites the dust. My 2650 3s 30c during it's 7th balance, (always balance charged), has come up with 2 cells at 4.2v and 1 at 3.8v. Tried discharging and balancing again with no change. Also recharged my Turnigy radio battery and one cell keeps getting farther and farther away with each charge. At the end of this balance it's .8v away from the others. FYI guys. |

There is, I believe a 1 year warranty on Turnigy batteries.

I think it's more like 30 days from date of purchase. A friend of mine who owns an rc shop has just been through this with Hobbyking. He was told through email that was how long it was. I have seen several Turnigy batteries come faulty straight from the delivery box. This is in no way an attempt to bash Hobbyking - these guys rock, just stating some observations. I myself only ever had one battery (again a Turnigy) come faulty from here and I have purchased many various lipos. In my somewhat limited experience I believe that as far as the budget lipos go, it seems that rhino are the leader, then flightmax, then Turnigy. I have been more than happy with all these brands and so has my friend, it's only that the Turnigy ones seem to have a bit of a faulty as delivered rate!!!
Just my 2 cents! |

I purchased a turnigy 2650 6s, 3000 6s and a flight max 5800 5s all won't reach 4.2v per cell they get to around 4.18, 4.17, 4.19.Is 0.2 between cells bad? I know they should all reach 4.2 per cell and be equal but will the cells being slightly unbalanced cause the lipo the fail or puff? |

Often charger actually does charge to 4.2 but once they charge stops they drop to 4.18-4.19. At least mine do. Also cheap electronics with 5%-10% tolerances in reading could mean the 4.18 and 4.2 are exactly the same. Only if you have like $200 voltmeter can you clearly state the exact voltage.
