Confused I have a EDF mirage 2000 graupner with a 62mm fan, no idea about the motor not a word about it in the notice. as specified I put a 3S 2000mAh inside, it flies after avery long takeoff run and keeps flying rather slowly.
I consider putting a 4S battery instead ? will it do something good or just burn the motor dead ??

A lot of 55 to 64 mm fans are made with 3s capable motors and come with ESC that can only handle 3s. Since I don't know exact specifications of your plane, try to contact Graupneror or search on rcgoups or rcuniverse about your plane. You can try getting a certified 4s ESC and see how your plane goes but probably best to get a certified 4s motor as well. You can also try high KV 3s motor for more speed on a 3s setup. It is a 40 Amp motor, so best to have at least 40 or even better, 50 amp esc.

Many thanks for your advice, I will try to get more info from graupner about the motor  and what it can accept and then try a new esc and 4S if acceptable. If not I will consider surgery for fiiting a new motor & esc.

A little better with a more powerfull battery: 30C but the last attempt in rather bad weather and a lousy pilot (myself) ended in a destructive crash.
after opening the guts of the poor thing, it appears that the motor was very small for what I expected. Never mind I'm going to go for an F15 GWS so I will exactly know what's inside.

Thanks again for your help

Too bad about your plane. If it is foam, it can always be put together even if you have to cut some few foam from some packaging.
GWS F15 is a nice bird to fly but not scale. I found it to be ok on a 4900kv stock "blue" motors but try to get "green" if I remember correctly as they can take 4s. It is really made for only a single battery so make sure to use high "C". I had a 2200 20C and they puffed under load :(

It is an easy plane to fly and land but if I was going to try again I'd get this F15. Looks more like the real deal and cheaper to setup as only 1 ESC fan and motor.
