Hi,
That's definitly a great mod ( like the 10$ battery mod ;) ) I don't have my turnigy radio here but I plan to put a backlight using an EL panel. Can anyone measure the screensize (both width and height) ? Thanks, Pouet |

Yes, how you managed to have MODEL instead of MODE on main screen? I have received V2 transmitter, but have MODE :(
Can you explain? :) Thank you P.S.: Nice manual

Very nice, I am now jelous of your display - never got around to trying the mod - couldnt find the parts; namely 'e-foile' :S
Any more details on sourcing parts?
Either way it looks awesome.

That's just the german word for "film". Easiest way to find it is to search ebay for "EL sheet". It isn't exactly cheap... but it looks good!

For the firmware, there are really three main choices. All have their positives and negatives. All require you to solder a connector to your circuit board, and buy and use a programmer (all described in the instructions of any of the three). All are better than the original firmware but vary quite a bit from each other. All are in "beta" stages... so they change OFTEN and may contain bugs, but then again the original contains tons of bugs anyway :)
Thus's firmware - this is the first I think and many still say the best. It is actively developed (last update was 3 days ago) but it has slowed down. Many have expressed frustration that the developer no longer responds to feedback/suggestions. I know from experience that he ignored my questions. His documentation is the most polished, but is out of date. Natively German with translations. Erazz's firmware is an off-shoot of Thus's. He picked up where Thus seemingly left off (at one point it appeared Thus abandoned the project). This is the one I follow the most and the one I choose and recommend. He is VERY responsive to suggestions and the development, for now, is VERY active. Some neat features and well coded. However, he has no documentation so you have to follow long forum discussions. Documentation keeps getting discussed but nothing so far. For basic how-to documentation though, just use Thus's since they are the same basic setup. Its just the new features that you have to figure out on your own or ask on the forums. Natively English. The RadioClone project. Very different. Some really advanced features, for example they have true curves for mixing instead of 5 or 9 point curves. However, that takes up so much memory that you can only have one model stored. To address that, he's worked out how to install and SD card slot into the radio to expand memory... but I don't think that's fully implemented yet. Not very responsive to feedback. Not nearly as actively developed. Poor documentation like the rest of them. Natively Polish with translations. I hope that helps some. - Steven
