Hello.
I'm testing and DIY-ing an Amphibious Vehicle. I'm using a 'Brushless outrunner DT750(with ESC plush-25A)' on land and a 'H2223 Brushless outrunner 4400KV(40A ESC > plan to change to SS Heli Series 50-65A ESC)' with a boat prop. I'm using 2200mah, 25-50C, 3 lipo cells. The problem I'm facing now is to determine which timing mode to be used on both of these motors. What I search from google is when: Low timing mode is set = high torque, lower speed? or High timing mode = low torque, higher rpm? Please share your knowledge here and Thank you.
(ignore the boat system, Im testing which motors are more suitable for land (DT750, 1800kv, 1200kv) Edited by StevenShyang - 15/Aug/2012 at 6:33pm |

The timing is more for the # of poles the motor has IE look at the DT750
it will have 9~12 stator wraps and more magnets so if it were 12 mag that is one evey 30DEG.High would be good for it.as for the 2223 4400 a inrunner wil have 2~6 magnets and will have a magnet every 180 DEG to 60 DEG for 2 pole low would be needed for 6 MED may do well. For the same motor you are right as far as low= more pull and high = more speed as long as it can run there.high pull and pole motors may loose synic at low settings were a low pull low pole may do this at high setting, hope it helped some. |
