I have recently purchased a mode 2 Quad, and would like to use a mode1 remote transmitter from another RC chopper. Can this be achieved and if so how.

Do not know what you mean by 'mode 2 quad'... Mode 1/2 refers to the Tx and can be used on any RC model...

Thanks Keeth for prompt reply.
The quad mentioned was a V929 Quad rc helicopter it came with a mode 2 TX but I can't seem to get it to perform with a mode1 from another rc copter(V911) Alvan |

The RC model does not really matter, it's the Tx and Rx that have to bind together... Once this happens you can install them in any model... When you buy a package the Rx is usually built into the control board and will probably only work with the original Tx...
You may be able to change the original Tx to mode 1... This will involve opening it up and moving some bits from one stick to the other... GL |

Alvan, I may be able to help. I have a v929 with bundled remote. I also have a v911 with bundled remote. Both are mode 2, but can be changed with disassembly. The 929 remote has 5 rates and a "flip" button. The 911 remote has dual rate and no "flip". Now, oddly, the 911 remote displays "mode 1", but it is mode 2. The 929 shows mode 2. I tried swapping the remotes, and they work fine both ways. I have no other compatible radios like the Turnigy, so I can't comment on that. The 5 rate 929 control helps me tame the v911 heli. Because I have only two days experience in helis (and quads), I will NOT be the one to determine what the "flip" button does to the 911. Otherwise they are completely compatible (for mine). Hope this helps.

Thanks Crash Test,I tried to take Keeth's advice but on opening up unit it really did look pretty daunting, and as yet have not plucked up the courage to really give it a go.But one day it will get the better of me and it will be done. But thanks for your input.

alvan, I opened my tx to look. No way to swap modes. Sticks are mounted directly to the main board. Takes a different board for mode 1. But I just saw the same tx for $8.69 shipped. I think mode 1 is available.
