FACT: Hitec code is flasheable, it has been done. There is a guy selling FrSky receivers converted to work with Hitec in Ebay, he has a forum at RCGropus also.

So, I want to see ORANGE, CORONA, or FRSKY receivers compatible with HITEC FHSS system and I'm shure a lot of yuo guys would love it too.

What do you think? let HK hear our voices asking for such a product.

Please comment.

While you may be able to get away with it as a DIY project, doing it commercially could lead to copyright issues
I don't care what it says on the profile - I'm so NOT GB!

Really? Why? How does a compatible receiver break copyright law if the original Hitec firmware was not examined or used?

Are you saying that compatible ink cartridges (with the page counter chips in) break copyright law?

Any PC that you sit in front of uses a BIOS that has sections of code that was designed to be made compatible with how the IBM BIOS operates.

Perfectly legal to reverse engineer products if done in the correct way.

Coming back to the RC world, why do you think that Futaba and Spektrum compatible receivers sell in the US and EU - without the sellers taken to court for copyright infringement?

It's illegal to make Clones of products. However there is nothing wrong in making Compatible products. Clone and Compatible are two very distinct, different things.

Cheers,
Si.
