Any update likely about how the turbine test/review has gone?
I have some helicopters. I crash less than I used to. I now have some fixed wing aircraft. I now crash a little more again! I also have Internet Explorer and can actually edit my signature ...

"Will it run?" Of course it'll run. The manufacturer will have test run it on a bench. I'm more interested in the dimensions, fuel consumption, thrust...oh yeah and the price...and if it still runs without problem after 10 hours runtime.

Bruces' reviews tend to be pretty thorough and honest. Good of HK to use a brutal reviewer for their test.
When he does get round to it, I think we will get a pretty good idea what these are capable of and how well they are designed and made.

Once they're released, we will of course know price, and I doubt it will take long for a plethora of test data to make it on here.

I'd prefer RCMR Bruce to let HK preview the review BEFORE us, so they can defend or so they can make changes to any issues/defects/pitfalls/cons in the Turbine.

I'd hate to see a review dumped out there raw that
(*1)bags the hell out it or
(*2)sings it's praises.

Because I know the "'ELITE' Turbine Masters" will jump on any fault they can find. (*3)

(*1) They will love that it may be a pile junk.
(*2) They will say Bruce is bias and is being paid to make the product look good.
(*3) They will find something to whinge about REGARDLESS!!

That would make it a 'test' rather than a review.

Whole point of a 'review' is to take it as it comes - and if that is 'warts n all' - so be it.

Well I presumed the idea WAS to get Bruce to beta TEST it, so they (HK) could tweak it before going into full production.

For all we know he's most likely already tested it, done a few videos and been in communication with HK over any potential issues so they can address them. Then he might release a set of fully finished videos rather than bits and pieces updated/released every few weeks.

HK & Bruce are strangely quiet on the matter at the moment.

Dunno, I just make stuff up as I go! :)

Yes it is very quiet. Methinks tis seized up through lack of use. Heheh

Anyone would think it is under the same development criteria as the latest Rolls Royce military turbofan ... Heheh!

The 'turbine elite' so fond of their meggabucks toy turbines will be loving this.

Mind you, the longer it takes, the more I can save for two of them!

Wouldn't hurt to at least give HK a chance to respond to any criticism. Many reviews do this, if (a) there is a serious flaw with the product, and (b) the manufacturer is reputable enough that they might do something about it.

I'm sure that Bruce will have some complaints about the turbine; that's generally true of any new product from any manufacturer. Hopefully they'll be simple issues that HK can 'fix' in a matter of minutes (eg. including some missing part in all production kits or rewording the instructions to make more sense).

I don't think that really matters at all.

The "Elite turbine masters" are not HK's target market for this sort of thing; they'll continue spending ten times as much as anyone else to get their hardware regardless of how good the HK ones are.

As you've said, they are going to whinge about the HK turbines, even if they end up resorting to "they're stealing our jobs by having the turbines built in China!" (I suspect this would be the last option, if they can't find anything else wrong).

HobbyKing's buyers and target market are well and truly used to "elite" people criticising their purchases: helicopters, LiPos, servos, TX/RX systems, etc. As such, they're very likely to completely ignore what the "elite turbine masters" say and only listen to what Bruce says.
