hi people, i am doing a peak models yak with dle 30 motor and and the cannister goes inside the fus, the conern i have is that the pipe passes just an inch below the fuel tank with just 3mm ply seperating the hot pipe and gas tank..... will the heat from the exhaust go up to the tank and cause a problem?
if its any use heki78 i am finishing a peak models yak 54 using 13kg hitec servos all round and 3300mah nimh battery with dle 30cc and canister pipe. no finished yet but needed to replace my slipstream sbach as 2.5 meter long model was too big to transport and took up too much room in my 1 bed apartment...my wife said its me or the plane.

There is a build of a similar (yak55) plane here:

A minimal technical knowledge is required for this hobby; please ensure you know the differences between up and down.

hi, thanks for the link, seems he has the petrol tank just above the exhaust, i think that i may try and make up a heat shield of some sort and hope for the best.
