    Posted: 27/Jun/2012 at 10:07am
We ordered a Bixler RC airplane for our son's Christmas in December 2011. It arrived broken. Six months and close to 20 complaint requests later, Hobby King still thinks they can get a replacement part from the manufacturer rather than give us our money back. Seriously? We've asked and asked for a new plane or our money back. They don't even answer that request, just respond that they are trying to get the part. By far the worst customer service I've ever experienced. Lesson learned: don't buy online overseas. It seems that because they are based in Hong Kong they can continue to give me the runaround rather than my money back because I can't really do anything about it.

Does anyone have a spare wing because their plane crashed? At this point, we'd like to get our son's Christmas present out of its box and off the ground.

These planes glue together easily after crashes. Do you have glue?

The plane has not been crashed. It has not even left the box. It arrived with a crushed wing.

Hello Vandeamon,
Sorry to hear about your Bixler plane. I have on order as well and hope it does not have problems.

Since you have not gotten a new wing I saw a youtube video fixing crushed foam by soaking it in HOT water. I was amazed at how much the crushing was reduced. The Crushed parts came back to normal.

You can search for an example of people dooign this on youtube.

Worth a shot.

Thanks Bry that's just what I was going to say, it usually does the trick.
you can put some tape both sides afterwards if you want.
Van I never said you crashed it, I said these repair easily after crashes
guys have but these through trees and fixed them and are flying again
the next day.
Over time you and your son will build up experience and enjoy the hobby
If you have a problem don't sit around for six months post the question
here and more than likely you will get good advice.

Coincidentally the same as mine 6 mths ago. I'm still waiting for the replacement. They actually made me another, sent it, attempted to charge me another £18 and that was broken as well. They have to make ONE wing seperately you see. Its a special process that can take many months they tell me.

Actually Vandino it does - the press used for any foamie makes the entire thing in one go (they don't have separate processes for the different parts)

To make a one off part means the mould has to be set up differently from a production run
I don't care what it says on the profile - I'm so NOT GB!

Well could I then suggest they make a complete plane, send one wing to the OP, one to me and sell the fuse to someone else. JD eh? Its not rocket science. Two existing customers with one waiting six, yes 6 mths for his replacement taken care of at one go.

Haha, I just noticed the OP's been waiting since last year.
