I understand that HK post and SING post do not want to ship LIPOS.
I have ordered LIPOS before and SIng Post shipped them to me. This time Hobby King used Swiss post and it is taking for ever. I have read around the internet and seen many posts. Regarding swiss post and how SLOW they are. Why does Hobby King even use them if they suck so bad? |

Swiss Post is the slowest international carrier I have ever seen. I ordered five large Lipos from the international warehouse and it took Swiss post almost three weeks to get them to the US and the then another week to get them from USPS. The only time I ever buy Lipos from Hong Kong is if I really need them and they don't have them in the US warehouse.

It's their only option?? You didn't figure that out?? My last order of Lipos via Swiss Post: Ordered: June 4th Mailed: June 7th Delivered: June 21st. Now that is to the US Virgin Islands so figure a bit quicker to other US Lower 48 ZIPS. Maybe 14-21 working days. About the same time frame as my last Swiss Post lipo orders. Actually, not to bad! I would continue to order lipos from the international warehouse if not available from the US warehouse. If you need them in 3-7 days, don't order them from the int. warehouse. I would note that the service is NOT slow. It's the number of countries and customs involved!! Edited by viflyer - 26/Jun/2012 at 2:28am |

I am a little bemused by the way lipos are shipped by HK. Some say that they are only able to be shipped by SwissPost.
Recently I have used the Royal Mail service offered for 8800mAh worth. (4 packs) Arrived in 9 days. I am in the UK btw. I also ordered in excess of 22,000mAh (10 packs) from another supplier in HongKong and they arrived in 6 days via HongKong post. That was two weeks ago. Another purchase of 15 packs of 6s 3000mAh (45,000) on fleabay arrived in 12 days via Registered China Post. Go figure. |

VERY interesting!! So what is really going on with lipo shipping from HK??? Maybe it has to do with the destination country?? I don't have a choice. I pick Registered Air and it goes out on Swiss Air?? Edited by viflyer - 26/Jun/2012 at 5:34am |

Dunno. Beats me. I do know there are IATA regulations about air-transport and how they must be packed in bubble wrap, in a card box and then outer shipping packaging etc. And all I have received have been packed as required, so I am at a loss.

Methinks the two postal organisations have a mail code-sharing arrangement like the airlines and pafrcels get handed over to the other party depending upon the destination.

But I think the question was WHO will transport the lipos. As I recall, HK said that only Swiss Post would take anyhting over 3000 capacity?? That seems to be what is going on with my deliveries? As long as the stuff gets here well protected and within a month, I guess I don't really care. God forbid I get some damaged ones and have to deal wi th customer support. NOW THAT is frightening,ha!! UPDATE.... I just contacted them VIA 24 support chat and "Cathy" said I can ask while making the order on "support Chat" to NOT use Swiss post.
I guess that's the route I'll be taking. |
