HK-8AC charging

I am VERY new to the RC world. I have a HK-8AC charger and need to charge a Turnigy 3.3 3300mAh battery. I did not receive an adapter with the charger that fits the red post ends so I plugged the battery directly into the charger with the white female end. I assumed that this is right, however, I get a message on the charger display, after doing the battery check saying 'check connection/connection break'. I have unplugged and plugged the battery back in a number of times with the same result. Am I missing something in my setup?

Thank you for your response, however, the link did not work. I have been asking around and it looks like i need to just replace the connectors on the battery and Plane. No big deal. Thanks again.
