Hello,

I ordered (and received) an orange R610 Rx with Sat. Rx for my Spektrum Tx. Can I use it in my 1100m warbird or is it only ment to be used in parklflyers?
It would be a shame if I should loose this magnificent warbird cause of signal lose!

Marc

We are using the orange units in planes and helicopters up to 700size at the field.
Also we found that with satellite connected we got good reception for further than you would be flying, upward of over a kilometre.
NEVER under any circumstances take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.

Last wednesday done the maidenflight with my Durafly P-51 with orange receiver (spektrum). No control issues and had a good reception even on a wide distance!!

We had an issue at the field today. One of my students planes started glitching only 40 yards away during the flight.
No issue with power as the battery was still holding good charge and the 40A SBEC equipped esc was cool to touch.
When doing some testing I noticed the connect light go out on the rx but not on the satellite. problem was the rx was no longer obeying commands.
I ended up testing and repeating this situation with two rx's and two satellites.
Unless the rx was linked as well as the satellite the rx no longer obeyed the tx.

Seems to make using a satellite a very questionable exercise??

regards
Bob

I have had problems with the 6ch Orange RX when using a satellite so decided to do some testing. I removed the antenna wire from the RX to simulate poor reception/shielding of the main RX. I also found that as soon as the main RX lost connection (LED goes out) I lose control of the connected servo despite the sat still showing as connected. Control only returns when the main RX re-connects. This in my opinion makes the sat almost useless. I have tried this on 3 different 6ch receivers using both an orange and spektrum sat. I have yet to try the experiment on a Spektrum RX as I need to dig one out of a model first.

Andy.

Tests with 6 channel rx (7 off) seem to suggest it makes no use of the satellite.
Tests of a 9 channel and a 7 channel confirm the satellite being used as alternate means of receiving signal.

Bob

I have not been playing with the int... But, I use the 610 receiver with and without the satellite receiver on glow and large scale 'GAS' airplanes, From 50cc to 120cc twins and have not one failed yet. The range is good and I am very plaesed with the performece of theses receivers. Thank You Hobby King for selling a good product. Keep It Up!

I have just received 2 x Orange 6CH RX's and 2 x Sat Rx's from HK. I decided to test them by putting into my HK L-4 Grasshopper which had been operating for the last few months with Spektrum DX8 Tx and a Spektrum AR6210 Rx with Sat.

After installing, I had a successful bind with the throttle at zero (off). I then did the range check and it failed miserably. I was operating full controlls until about 20 paces when it stopped and as soon as it stopped the prop turned a few times.

Not to be put off I put in the other Orange Rx with exactly the same results. OK, I thought this must be Sat Rx problem so I changed it and still the same range failures. The only thing I havent done is test without the Sat Rx.

If it works without the Sat Rx then HK is ripping us off as the Sat Rx's are double the cost of the Rx for no benefit on the 6ch Rx.

Has HK come and and said if they will exchange/refund because of hese probs?

Post your message in the support section of the forums you may get the assistance you need there.
There is nothing wrong with the orange receivers normally so you either have faulty ones which you could ask to be replaced on warranty. Or you are doing something basically wrong in setup in which case that forum may sort you out.
