Just a minor correction to, "1) It is recommended to use 80% of the Lipo battery before charging." That should read " 1) It is recommended to use NO MORE THAN 80% of the Lipo battery before charging." There's no memory effect with LiPos so there's no need to run them down to any point before charging and as has already been mentioned very damaging to run them down too much.

I'm never wrong, once I thought I was but I was mistaken.

guys, the battery charger I got included with the Bixler is similar to this one:
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__7637__Turnigy_balancer_Charger_2S_3S.html

The power supply should be connected to one side of the charger and from the other side the balance lead from the battery, rt?
There is no place to connect the battery lead (XT60 connector)

according to the manual of the charger above (from the Files tab):
"2.2 There are two LED status lights. The red light indicates that
power is connected to the charger. The green light means that
charging is in progress. The green light goes out when charging is
complete."

When I tried charging both batteries I had, the green light never went out. Do you think it might be a problem with the charger itself?

My first model was a large RTF glider powered by a LiPo and came with a similar very basic charger which worked for a while too then suddenly for no reason stopped charging, even though the lights still came on. The best thing I ever did was buy a decent charger where I can adjust current, charge every type of battery I know of and see exactly what's going on during the charge process. I know you're itching to get out and have a fly and I can absolutely understand that but I wouldn't waste my time playing with that thing, I'd wait till your good new charger and batteries get to you.

I started off the same (a bundled 'balance charger' that came with my first (well first this time round - I started RC waaaay back in the days of single channel, 'bang-bang' controls) and gave up after a very short while and got myself one of these.

It's well worth the investment (as is one of these)

I don't care what it says on the profile - I'm so NOT GB!

you are correct on how it should work.yes it will charge with the balance connector.yes i beleave you got a dog.i bought 3 of the other cheap ones and 2 still work.tha best i hvae of this type is from venom
4+ years on it. i now use the ACC6 and it has had mix reveiws, butons and connetion proplems.I have had none of these.if you have a volt meter you check and see if it is charging the battery.put the leads to the discharge plug and it should go up in voltage when hooked to the charger.best bet wait on the one that woill work well for you.

thanks All for your replies.
I asked you that because I wanted to know whether I should complain to HK about it maybe...
Seems better to wait until the new charger arrives (it will take a few weeks I guess ...)
I will be very glad if the old batteries are ok and it's actually the charger who is defective...
I just hope the problem is not actually in the ESC/motor...
