I bet you a beverage of your choice it was a LOT closer to $2.99 than $200! (Of course you must pay for the shipping!!! HA!)

With the exception of the $2.99 remark, I'll stay with my response: HK should do the "right thing"! I can live with the occasional low cost dud item, but one transaction like tressie's and I'll be done with HK. My money is a little too hard to come by! It's the ole "Fool me once, shame on you; Fool me twice, shame on me" routine!

Have a good day!

I'll bet it was closer to the $2.99 area too but since he didn't say we don't know, I wouldn't be at all surprised if it was around the $30.00 mark though and therefore as big of a loss as this blokes heli.
Tressie agreed to certain terms and conditions when he placed his order. Those conditions include a warranty that involves the item only, not the shipping. If Tressie decides it's worth it to then to pay $20.00 to send his $30.00 heli back to Hongkong instead of looking at it as $10.00 worth of spare parts it doesn't matter what any of us think, he agreed to those conditions at the time of ordering.

Here's a thought for you. He might have agreed to the terms and conditions...but...did he have I choice? If I forget to tick that little box I can't finish my order. I have never had a choice. Agree or....or nothing.

Just because terms and conditions are in a contract doesn't mean that they would be upheld. It depends on bargaining power. In other words, if they insist on grabbing you by the balls before they'll deal with you.

If this were England, I know exactly what the outcome would be. I know very little about the laws of HK. But, if I felt that I'd been cheated, I'd make it my business to find out.

I'm sure that I'm not the only one who sometimes feels nervous about buying from China. It's just the way the Chinese are.

On the other Hand. The owner of Hobbyking isn't Chinese, is he?

All of this aside, isn't it nice when a man shows his good character by doing the right thing?

But you do have a choice. You agree to those terms and conditions or you buy from somewhere else. Nobody forces you to buy anything from Hobbyking, and there isn't a Chinese RC retailer who's terms and conditions are any different, to my knowledge. It's within the laws of the country where the transaction took place.

We all come to Hobbyking because they are the cheapest, not because we want a retailer that provides the best customer service. To be able to do that the retailer has to jack the prices up to cover the cost of the returns- he has to make a profit at the end of the day or there is no point in being in business.

I know the OP is upset and I can see why, but HK have neither broken any laws or breached the terms and conditions that were agreed to at the time of sale, so this thread really is a non-event.

I'm here to help where I can- the sarcasm and insults are just a complimentary service I provide....

And I guess HK could just save some "web-space" and not post the following statements huh?

"Customer Service
Customer service is our top priority, and while some issues are beyond our control, we do our best to ensure your transaction exceeds your expectations.
Should you have an issue with any of our products or service, please contact us via our CUSTOMER SUPPORT CENTRE (login first) to voice your concern.

Professionalism
Should you feel your order or issue was not dealt with in a professional manner, please contact our CUSTOMER SUPPORT CENTRE to let us know your concern. Please include details on previous dialogue. Please refrain from straying, and keep the complaint succinct, clear and complete."

There you go! I'm sure Tressie's expectations were exceeded ... he just hasn't realized it yet!

It also seems to attract the usual bunch who have nothing constructive to say and only want to bash those who do

And usualy the same crew of HK haters trying to stir the pot. You lost any credibility with your previous looney post on that other topic nexxus.
There's a big difference between trying to help people understand why and what's most likely to happen and "making people with concerns seem like they are unreasonable ". If you can't see that that's your problem.

So by asking for communication and a reasonably prompt turnaround time, I'm a hater?

What the f... are you on? Seriously?
