Nasty experience:

Forked-out 30-bucks for a micro-heli, and another 30 for shipping. Down $60.

The thing was defective, so I paid another 20-dollars to return it for 'repair or replacement'. Down $80.

HK ripp-me-off and, instead of replacing the helicopter, refund the $30 cost of the heli only!!! Out $50, through fault on my part, and zero to show for it!!

No, HK. When I paid you the initial $60, it was with the expectation that I would receive what I paid for. If you cannot supply items as described, then this is YOUR FAULT, and your liability is the full $60.

No, HK. When I expended the extra $20 to return the faulty merchandise to you, it was with the expectation that it would be 'repaired or replaced', and returned to me at no further cost. If YOU DECIDE to cancel the order at this point, then your liability extends further to the return postage I have expended, especially given the false pretence you have created.

Your business practices clearly extend to within the realm of criminal conduct, HK. I've cancelled all my outstanding orders, and will fight this to the last.

M.

"Products MUST be returned to us for inspection.
Liability of the product is restricted to the sale price of the product."
It's not what you want to hear but they do make it pretty clear they don't pay for shipping or anything apart from the item itself. It's a bit of a lottery dealing with an overseas supplier and most times we win but sometimes we lose. We've just got to weigh up whether the wins outweigh the loses.

Bear in mind also that the terms and conditions of sale are not the Aussie ones. You also agreed to them when you ticked that box at checkout. Now, that wouldn't make any difference if the transaction didn't comply with the distance selling regulations of the country you made the transaction in. Your transaction took place in Hong Kong, and their laws are somewhat different to those in your country.

Anthony stated elsewhere that faulty items can be returned to the local warehouse for inspection under warranty

No, that reads to me that Tressie is threatening to carry out a Denial Of Service attack on the Hobbyking website. This would, of course, be a really stupid thing to do since they've just suggested it and would help their conviction and sentence to be decided much more quickly by the courts.

Well that shows my level of computer literacy, I thought DOS was just a typo for Homer Simpsons "Doh".
That's a bit like going into a police station to tell them what time you'll be trying to rob the bank. He's a pretty silly young fella making threats like that. Then again he did spend $80.oo on a $30.oo heli.

Tressie, not that it makes a hill of beans difference to your situation but which micro heli did you purchase for around $30.Sounds like it might have been a HK-190 possibly.I'm curious to find out what your exact problem was with this micro heli.It would have been cheaper and less frustrating to probably just change out the receiver board.I do get your point on spending more good money after bad though. It does happen from time to time(i.e-dud servo's)and it does suck.Like was mentioned before though, you do have to weigh up your wins against your losses to be fair about it all.
