I made the mistake of buying one of these.

They are supposedly rated from 2-6s but that is a lie.

Mine ran on 2s just fine, and then when I switched to 5s (on a 2250 Kv sensored motor - not very high Kv) it went up in smoke within 1min of run time.

The worst thing is - when you try to return the faulty product, HobbyKing will ignore your emails / support tickets / RMA. I followed the RMA process and received no response.

I have now purchased a XERUN 150A ESC and it has been running perfectly with no problems on the same 5s lipo and 2250 Kv motor. Please do yourself a favour and do not buy this garbage product.

Did you ever tried entering programming mode using more than 3s lipo ?

If you did, there's your problem.. that alone is enough to cause the esc to smoke in future usage.

Suppo Microcontroller... notorious for not being able to handle over 3s programming.

I did not enter programming mode at all.

The ESC correctly recognized my 5s Lipo (5 beeps) and I was happy with the default settings so did not even use a programming card on it.

So that was not my problem.
After much pain and hassle (poor support from HobbyKing) I have received a refund through paypal.
