I have a futaba GY401 and I know exactly how you set.
I recently purchased a HK401 and I can not keep doing the tail stops at AVCS. AVCS in the tail tends to turn to the right very slowly. I already inserted into the hot glue, but I have not solved. know another way to solve the problem? Edited by galaxy76 - 29/Mar/2012 at 8:51pm |

If you read the posts about HK401 you will quickly realise that the current production run is crap and that they are no longer suitable for helis. Two years ago when first released they were great - I have a few of them. I wouldn't touch the current ones with my crew-mate's barge pole. |

Sometimes when I reflect back on all the beer I drink I feel ashamed. Then I look into the glass and think about the workers in the brewery and all of their hopes & dreams.

I have had the odd initial problem with drift when setting up a new heli with my original metal sensored HK401Bs as well. I have managed to eliminate the problem on each occasion by adjusting the gain and experimenting with different settings - which I can set up in my Futaba TX. I read somewhere that you can calibrate these gyros the same way as the original Futabas from which they are cloned.
There are instructions for this floating around on the web and I have seen it in this forum somewhere. I have got mine going through trial and error - I do my set up in HH mode. The choice of servo can affect performance also. I have had success with both HXT900s and Bluebird Digital servos. |

fantastic! Therefore, there is calibration?
I've searched but found nothing. Perhaps I do not know how to look. You already know you will give me some links? |

Instructions for setup were posted in HK forums about 6 months ago. I read it but did not note it down as I was not having any setup problems. It is probably buried withing the Helicopter Haven section - but not necessarily under Gyros.
Google Futaba 401B gyro setup or calibration and you might be lucky. |
