Hi guys,

Was wondering if you can tell me a suitable battery i can use in my Mini T-33 Blue Angels 50mm jet.. It recommends a 850mah 3s 20c but i can't find any in the Aus warehouse.

I tried to use 800mah 3s 20c (charged it completely) plugged it up and tested the throttle and control surfaces then everything started going glitch-ie. Once i removed the canopy the battery was swelling and very hot..

is there a suitable substitute battery anyone could recommend.

That battery should have worked fine i have the L39.
MINI L39
the spects are the same and have not had this to happen.
plane you have??MINI T33
i puled the stock ESC and put in a plush 25AMP(i'm a plush slut).i would check it very close to see why the battery did that.

okay thank you very much. Yeah i own the mini t33. I noticed when i go full throttle then move the throttle stick down it takes about 2 seconds to respond. Only happens with throttle, control surfaces move when i move them sticks but it takes awhile to respond to throttle.

When i plugged up the first battery i had the engine running at WOT, it sounded like the engine was slowing down. that is when i noticed the battery starting to puff up.

I was planing on getting a plush ESC. So you highly recommend the 25Amp for these models?

yes i highly recommend the plush ESC, mine has 2 servos so the plush BEC
is fine on it.for 3 cell the 25amp is good.if the motor was slowing down i would check the fan, some have been loose from the start. This was
not my case but i do go over the QC on all my hk stuff.

by the way would a 1350mah 3s 25c lipo be okay to use or is that to much for the engine?

A 3s battery of greater capacity is like a larger fuel tank - it holds more fuel than an 800 mah 3s battery. It is not too much for the engine but it could be too heavy for the plane or at least upset the C of G.

If you used a higher voltage battery such as 4s or 6s you would overload the esc which has to burn excess voltage off as heat.

I have used 1000ma and the 1350ma in mine since i turned it in to a yard dart.made a DIY front to it(looks more like a F4 now).it had power to spare with either one.mostly short flight times, geting use to it.they get small fast.I'm not the best at bank and yank.Keep the cg right it make a big change to how well it will fly more so than most larger planes.
