Hello. I need help.

I bought a set of Fat Shark goggles late last year. The ones with a built in 5.8 receiver. The range was so bad.... about 20 feet.

I didn't want to mess about sending them back so I bought the Fat Shark 600mw transmitter.   The range was far better but still not good enough to go flying with.

They sat on the shelf for months. I had an idea to buy a separate receiver and just use them as goggles. So, I got them out again. Bloody Hell!   Dust on the screens.

I decided to carefully take them apart and clean them.   I really was careful.   I found that the antenna coax inside was not connected!

It seems to me that I need to solder it on.   But, where does it go?

I think that I can see where it had been soldered. But I can only see one place.   Is it the shield or the centre wire? I have no idea.

I have tried to get help from the rcgroups forum.   Lots of people have read my post.   No one can help me.

Right then :-)   I have come to where the real brains are!   Surely one of you clever lot will have no problem with this.

I think that the antenna was never connected and if I can solder it on I will be able to go out and play. It's agony not being able to try FPV.

Thanks very much.

Andrew.

Would be nice if you have a picture of the issue that you are facing.

I was just thinking about that.   As soon as I get home I'll take a few pictures of it. And, I'll try to explain it better.

Thanks for replying. It gives me hope :-)

simplest way is follow the solder point on the board and see if it leads to the ground of the board , if so then the shield (outside) of the coax will be from there.centre of the coax will be nearby somewhere.

Pictures would be helpful.

Not sure whether to report dalek87 as missing or on a long journey home, in anticipation of the photos!
