Too bad Rudi. That's half the fun and it's illegal here as well.
Would be nice to have FPV and rockets. Would beat flying around in circles and doing a few ACROs except one would probably forget the time while having all that fun and run out of fuel.
Best Regards
I can only remember half of what I say....
I used to walk on water 'til I found out it was more fun sitting in the boat drinking beer

You could cover up the holes of the retracts and change the position of the antenna to get a more scale look.

Unfortunately last sunday was one of those black sundays at my club with 5 planes crashed. Mine was one of them.
I had changed over to DTE light oil and had emptied the fuel tanks for that. Apparentely I didn't get all the air out of the fuel system and about half flight my turbine quit with a trail of white smoke. Ecu said fuelfail.

I was fairly high when it happenend and I tried to glide it in, but coudn't make a decent approach from where the plane was without passing over the parkinglot or the public. So I made a difficult approach, which went ok until I pulled the landinggear down. I must have pulled the stick a little while flipping the LG switch and the jet went into high alpha for a moment and then dropped a wing and nosed in from about 3m high.

Damage looks bad but only the nose is damaged. Should be repairable. Extra weight of the repair is not so bad since there was 450g lead in the nose.
Gonna put all pieces together with CA and then put a 80g fiberglass cloth inside to strengthen it again. Sanding, spacling, sanding and painting and hopefully it'll be as good as new !

It looks pretty bad, but only the nose is damaged, everything else is ok. If you put the pieces of the nose together again it looks very repairable.

Sorry Cry

if it's any consolation, it was an "honest" crash, no inverted ailerons or such.

Had to change user name to "__wolw" due to software upgrade. You can't PM me on this username as I can't log in to it.

Well, that's true, although it was still a bit stupid cause
1) I should have checked the fuelsystem better for air
2) I should have been able to land it after the flame out, which I almost succeeded in doing.

But I'm still learning, that's why I bought this used trainer, and repairs are advancing. Puzzled all pieces back together with CA and now I'm putting in glasfiber/epoxy to strengthen it. First 2 cloths were done yesterday, which were the hardest cause they go all the way in the nose and against the top of the nose, behind the canopy opening.

Starting to look like a T22 again :-)

Still some sanding, spackling and painting to do :

An air bubble in the line between hoppertank and fuelpump. Most likely a few of those caused the flame-out

Since I'm gonna have to sand, spackle and paint her again, I'm already thinking about paintscheme's.

What y'all think about this one :

Or any other suggestions ?
I'll probably have to finally get me one of those hobbyking paintbrush sets to get the job done though :-)

Sorry bout the crash. We all do it. As long as the Turbine is still good, whew! How much is just a new air frame? Are they sold as ARF? I don't have a jet. Check those servos. I'm sure you thought of that already, but I used to skip that step... when I was less experienced. Oh yeah, I dream of an RC F-14 Tomcat also. (I used to back seat one as a Naval Flight Officer in the US Navy). What a blast!

Anybody have any good recommendations for a good "Beginner" EDF Jet to prep for the "Big Time" like this one? Something that's durable and easy to fix maybe. I think it's my next step. I have been flying my 100+ Mph Stryker for a while now.

On another note, maybe we can add "Turnigy Turbines for under $199 dollars" under the "Things I Wish HK Would Sell" thread. Big smile Wouldn't that be cool!
