Thanks for a good tip. Today's test included following: * one claim was that peak-to-peak voltage in reciever can be up to 2.5 v - which should be 1.2 volts. Added an adjustable resistor to the video signal. No improvement. * tested the same on input - if the video input signal was too strong. No effect either. Perhaps I just need to buy a simple board camera and give a try.... Shippment only takes quite long time... |

OK, I have two of these sets. Here's the news: To match the channels on RX and TX, you must be aware of the dip switch orientation. On both RX and TX switch 4 does nothing. Forget it. On the TX all switches are OFF when DOWN, ON is UP. But on the RX switches are OFF when UP, ON is DOWN.
I use channel five, only switch three is ON. My 72mhz aircraft radio will only reach one kilometer, so I don't fly past that. The video is still great at that range on stock antennas. I can also use larger dipoles to improve video quality. Both antennas must be vertical. I mount RX 3 meters high. Works great. (Still working on the skew planar ant.) I use 3s to power TX and 2s for RX ( runs cooler). Enjoy! |

CHECK the 5 wire connector. In the picture from the link above, the 5 wire connector is wired exactly backwards. When the connector is plugged in, the CORRECT colors (to match the pin assignments) MUST be: (from left to right) green, white, yellow, red black.
The red and blk are 12vdc to power Cam. The green is unused. Yellow is video in; white is audio. If your cam doesn't have a mic (mine don't) you can use the on-board mic. There is a volume control pot about 1/2 inch below the mic. There is no auto sound level control, so you may have to turn it way down to deal with wind noise at 50MPH. Connecting audio to the white audio input wire mutes the on-board mic. |
