Ok, here goes - Im new to this and received today my new plane, its a Piper J3 Cub EPO (PNF) so 36-48 700kv Brushless Out-runner pre installed so shaft for attaching the propeller poking out of engine cowling.
see image below http://static.rcgroups.net/forums/attachments/2/1/8/6/1/0/a3782288-89-IMG_6866.jpg Why would the engine not be mounted dead strait so the shaft therefore strait as its brand new out of the box pre installed (PNF) and slightly off centre? I'm looking forward to your an idiot in some of the answers, anyone out there willing to give share their knowledge with a newbie?? it would be appreciated! Many thanks Newbie |

its because the motor needs to be off set to counter the thrust, otherwise if it was straight when you hit the throttle it would want to climb and shoot to the right.

Ya it is the norm to have a bit of right and down thrust making the model sweeter to fly

I don't think there are spares available, but you will be amazed how
many times these foamies can be fixed with a hot glue gun and fibre tape. A gobsh1te is a class of an eejit :-) |
