    Posted: 08/Jan/2012 at 11:37am
Hi All

I hope HK can help us all with the correct information.

I just bought a HK-SSH70A ESC. It says it can do timing and PWM programing through sub-menu 5 & 6 from the manual on the HK site. My unit only has 4 sub-menus.

Currently I cant follow the manual for 6 options from the HK site and cant follow online info as everyone has differnt infomation.

My ESC has the the following beeps.

Sub-menu 1 = 6 options
Sub-menu 2 = 4 options
Sub-menu 3 = 4 options
Sub-menu 4 = 4 options.

I have this unit connect to a Turnigy 6S 2650 Lipo, Turnigy 9X8Cv2 RX with Turnigy 9X TX and Turnigy Typhoon 500H 1800kv Heli motor.

Can anyone provide the correct manual or information to setting up the ESC before I blow it up from the wrong info provided from HK?

Cheers

This is good news... well bad news too.

I think we have been sent out a bad batch of these units or HK have changed the menu and not tell anyone or updated the online manuals.

What motor did you connet to the ESC?

I hooked it up to a Tonic-X Z20-980 and a Typhoon 500.. Both motors seemed to run ok at full power..Will install it in the heli with The Z20 and fly it later today and let you know how it does

I flew a hurricane for a 6 min flight with it installed..Used 100-80-100 % throttle curve.. Did stationary flips and rolls and hovered and figure 8's..Came down at 106 degrees F and performed well.. So , in spite of the fact you can't program the PW and timing it does work..Maybe someone from HK will ring in with some more info..

Thanks johnnyrides for the feed back. I was thinking it would be ok, but for how long?

Timing and PWM setting are very important setting options and having them wrong could over heat a motor or even worst stop in mid flight.

What lipo setup are you using and are you able to tell me the beep settings you have for each 4 options? I ask this as even the 4 option manual is incorrect ( I have more options in each sub menu) and I'm worried about setting the wrong lipo voltage.

I wish Hobby King can give us some answers

Cheers

thanks for your setting.

Last question before I run off and test myself.

Are you running the Typoon 500H 1800kv or 1600kv motor?
