I returned a gas engine (under warranty) to Hobby King back in July 2010. That was 16 months ago. Since then I have requested many times for information as to what is happening. I have recieved such answers as 'awaiting inspection' or 'awaiting spares' or 'spares have been ordered' and also 'request resolved/closed' but not told what decision they have come to, even after many requests. I have also requested they send the engine back to me because I have waited so long, that I will have repaired at my own expense!.....no reply again.
Has anyone else experienced this kind of delay? And why are they behaving in such a way? The engine is not even and expensive one!

Whoa - 16 months, that's insane. I dunno what to suggest but just had to acknowledge that is a damned log to wait for a warranty to be processed.

Can't you ask them to just send you a similar new replacement, I mean 16 months, holly hell.

Thanks FB. I have asked them every permutation of getting my engine bac k, including returning the engine to me and I will accept postage and repair at my own cost!.....anything just to get MY engine back. If it were my fault the engine is faulty, they should say that, and have done with it, but they dont. All I get is frustrating repetative excuses. I did not cause the engine to be faulty. I have used gas engines before. The engine only cost $US140, so why all this aggro? It just does not make sense!!!!!!
Do not buy anything that costs more than you can afford to loose from HobbyKing.

400 Blade, I have little option other than to keep on sending e-mails to HobbyKing requesting info. There is nothing in a practical legal sense I can do. I cannot take legal action simply because it would cost far more than the engine is worth (and legal action in China by me over this fairly trivial matter) is a non starter. HK know this and couild apply the same tactic to any customer they wish.

I have just received an e-mail from HK Support asking if I would like to close Request Ticket 87792 (this is my request for information!). They must be joking! I need to know what decision they have come to in regards to MY engine. This is becomming a theatrical farce!

I've got no idea what you can do about this situation but it certainly sounds like a right royal screwup. Asking if you would like to close that request ticket makes no sense to me at all. 16 months waiting for an answer is just plain rediculous.
I realy hope they get their fingers out and sort your problem out asap.

I'm never wrong, once I thought I was but I was mistaken.

I think lots of people are watching this thread with interest.
I am ready to step up from the hobbyist planes to the serious ones.
With the foamies i have already bought if this happened no real hardship BUT if it were to happen with an order of the nemisis racer and the 50cc motor combo I am currently considering it would be a real problem.. watching with interest ;}

ps if there are extenuating circumstances I would like to hear from HK on the matter
