Hi!

I will show you my latest electric motor plane and the equippment that I install into.

It is all my design regarding the structure and size, but general outlook or shape came from a small Czech made free flight rubber powered model Marabu. Of course I made major changes in the construction (did not simply scale it up) and some minor layout changes.
But awerall impression stays pretty same... a cute plane!

Well, let se the data for model:

Wing span: 260 cm
Fuselage length: 182 cm
RTF mass: 3000g
Wing loading: 30 g/dm2

And installed RC equippment:

Reciever: ASSAN The X8R 2.4ghz receiver
Elevator and rudder servos: Corona 538MG Digital Metal Gear Servo 7.0kg/ 58g/ 0.13sec
Aileron and Flap servos: HKS-9650 High Speed Servo 2.3kg
Tow hook servo: HXT900
Propeller: APC style 13x6
Motor: TR 35-48-C 800kv Brushless Outrunner Eq: AXi 2826
ESC: Plush 80A 26v Brushless Speed Controller
Battery: Rhino 3700mAh 4S 14.8v 20C Lipoly Pack
Servo cables:Servo Extention Lead 420mm

And you are probably interested about how this plane fly.
It is very nice model to fly! See for yourself:

Plane is large and I am small, thats for a big difference!

Free stickers I got in past, and I save them for models where I use HK components.

Today was (again) cludy and windy, but I anyway made some flights. In one of them I put HK Wing camera on a boom forwars of the wing tip. This way i got complere model into a frame:

Couple of friends ask me for the plans.
As there were no plans done, it seems, that I will really do plans (workshop drawings)for this model.

Thanks!

I should write some words about covering.
Gray covering was purchased in HK.
It is this one: http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=6713

As I have some blue self adhesive film already home (Or....ck), I use it for the decoration only.

My friends and some forum members were skeptic about that gray color, but most of them, now when model is finished, agree that it came out pretty nice with that gray.

My experience about HK covering is so far pretty fine. I can tell you that it is really easy to work with it. Removing of the protection film is not problematic. I use a slightly hotter iron than usually. Covering goes without problems around rounded contours... as around wing tips and similar shapes.
Covering is amazingly puncture resistant. But, one must be aware if fragile and flimsy balsa structures are the case, it can went into heavy distortions if heat is not aplied careful.

After I cover my model with HK covering, I decided to cover every next model with it as it is good, easy to apply and affordable.

Just for info, I weighted covering (without protection film) and it came around 64g/sq meter... in case you wonder how the weight will change after you cover your model.

Regards!

Mitja
