Hall Sensor broke on my 50cc after 2 flights. Have a new one, but not sure where to set it. It slides left to right about 1/2 inch, but no information about pickup in manual. Any idea how to measure the advance needed, or is it just a "try and adjust" kinda thing??
Also, running the engine inverted, and wonder if the carb should be inverted also? Seems to be very hard to get gas to stay in carb after refill. Starts on the Choke amount and then quits. Do this many times, finally engine will continue to run. Anyone have any experience with this??
Thanks

Ignition timing is an important part of engine tuning, not sure about that particular motor but they seem to be set around 28 to 32 degrees before top dead centre,a protractor needs to be mounted to the crankshaft and a pointer fixed to a stationary point remove the plug and zero the protractor pointer at TDC then rotate the crank back toabout 40 degrees before TDC, then slowly rotate tfe crank in the direction of rotation till the spark occurs at the plug gap, when you have it sparking at correct setting lock the screws on the sensor.
If you do not have a DTI [dial travel indicator]to find TDC with,an aproximation can be achieved by smearing some detergent across the plug hole at a very close point to TDC
and watching the bubble go from convexto concave as the pistonreaches the top of the stroke. Re inverting the motor, you should not have any problem as the Walbro is a diaphragm type carb. Hope this is of some help. Grahame
