I'm trying to find the right way to remove the prop adapter on my hobbyking bixler. I lost the original prop and the nut that holds it on.
I replaced it with a 6x4 prop that I drilled out to fit on the adapter, but the problem with that is its not perfectly balanced and the nut I used only holds it on with a few threads, which is not ideal. I would like to know how to remove the stock prop adapter and which one to replace it with. |

birdshot , keep in mind i don't have this plane but most are
grub screw type on these you would pull the screw and slide off the adappter the othe is colet colet type this one you will have to remove the nut and pry the collor up then it should slide off as for what to put back on you would have to know the size of the shaft looks like a 3mm or 3.17 and it will have to be right.the 3.17 will not fit 3mm. hope it helped you out. |

That helps a little. I think its the kind you pry off.
I just need to get that size confirmed by someone else who has the same plane and tried a new adapter. Thank you airwave |

It appears to have been swaged around the motor shaft. I used a Dremel and cutoff wheel to cut the motor shaft as long as possible.
Plenty of shaft length remaining to use prop hub of our choice. 7 inch prop is about the physical limit but be very careful to check your current draw. |
