At the moment there is probably some fat guy sitting on the box its in eating his lunch at a Hong Kong air port.. but it will be here soon.

I actually come to HK via a search to buy some wire for my 1:1 Holden VT Commodore , then noticed the 1/18 ST for cheap, then I changed my mind to a Monster Beatle.. then the Racing Buggy come out, so I bought it the same day it was released (kind of spur of the moment after trumpy posted it).

I dont have any pics as of yet but it will look like this for about 5 when I get it. Ill take some pictures along the way and update this as it changes.

So far I have bought the following for it:
Mini Inferno Stadium Truck body
Mini Inferno Buggy wing
Aluminium C hubs
Aluminium front knuckles
Aluminium oil filled shocks
Metal servo
60A ESC
2848 4370kv motor (46A 500W)
12T,13T,14T,15T,17T pinion gears
Heatsink with fan for the original motor
Heatsink with fan for the new motor
+ a ton of spare parts

I have a few more things in mind that Ill probably get later but I'm not going to make the whole thing aluminium, I would rather break a plastic suspension arm than rip a metal one out of the diff that its attached to.

^ Old information above, Ill update it soon.

I thought I would post this video in the first post for new people looking at this thread.

I got some parts in the mail but I still don't have the car yet.

Motor, ESC, programing card, front knuckles, c hubs, metal servo, heatsink with fan (for stock motor), spare motor mount.. some other random bits.

Hi, you meant you will build one which will look like the buggy HK is selling? Did you get all these parts from HK?

Yeah the 1/16 Turnigy, I just got it today..

Not all of the parts came from HK though, the plastic parts and the motor and ESC and programing card and pinions all did though.

The Mini Inferno rear spoiler went straight on.

I also got another small box full of upgrades a few hours ago but I don't think I'll be able to do anything to it today. I haven't even taken it for a drive yet.

Looking forward to your initial impressions Ez

One Quick question , do the wheels use the hub spacer attachment like on the beetle or do they have pin slots moulded into them for a direct fit to the axles ?

( Trumpy, craftily seeing if they will fit onto the 1:18 series too, trumpy )

Does anybody know how to cancel a bid on e-Bay?
I put in a bid for a “Cowboy Outfit” and it seems I’m only six minutes away from owning the Australian Labor Government !

Ezarc,

Did you buy these from HK?

Metal servo
60A ESC
Heatsink with fan for the original motor

If so, can you let me know the link. Thanks.

@trumpy

I don't have anything here at the moment to take the wheels off but *looking at the manual..* the exploded view shows part no. 30725

@ykhean The metal servo and ESC were from here. The heat sink you can find if you search google for "3RAC-MHS006", the place I bought it from (for like $4 or so) had sold out now.

D-MG16 Metal Gear Servo (recommended to my by red25)
Turnigy TrackStar 60A Car ESC

That ESC is overkill for the stock motor, it wont harm it but I only got it to handle the bigger motor I bought. Also it wont fit under the stock body, I ordered a stadium truck body that it will fit under though. And that heat sink wont fit a larger motor.

If you want to use the stock motor it should be fine with the stock ESC or a 35A like reds.

---

I also ordered 2 of these ZIPPY Flightmax 2200mAh 3S1P 25C last night and they got shipped today (from Aus). That may be a tight fit but its needed to give the ESC and motor the power it needs.

zippy 2200mah 3s fits the beatle

i was able to fit the heat sink with a bigger motor just remove the two bottom screws that holds the fan then slightly pull the opening to make it larger.
