I have just receive my Pitts S12 Python from hobbyking and all I have to say that the finishing of the plane is great. all the covering is done well and also the plane is made of good quality balsa for the guys who want to put a nitro 0.70-0.90 engine.
Below is the details of my setup:

Hobbyking Pitts-S12 Python (Yellow/Blue) EP 1370mm (ARF)

-Motor: Turnigy G60 Brushless Outrunner 400kv
-ESC: TURNIGY K-Force 70A-HV OPTO Brushless ESC
-Battery: Turnigy 5000mAh 6S 20C Lipo Pack
-servos: Mi Digital High Torque MG Servo 6.0kg
* Edit 24-09-11 * I changed over the servos to [HD-DS-090M 9.6KG servos for Alirons and for the elevator Mi Digital High Torque MG Servo 6.0kg
BEC: 8A Turnigy MEGABEC 8
RX battery: 2S 1000mAh
Prop: 15x8 or 16x8

I instruction manual seems detailed enough for the seasoned builder and it seem to have clear pictures of the step by step build.
I will be scanning the instruction manual, with some comments and posting it in the files section on the planes webpage. but here is a sample of the the manual to get an idea.

I started by gluing the hinges on both of the wings. using the extra-long CA ex-tips has helped a lot with getting the CA glue on the slots. very useful.

after that I installed the Aileron servo. first You need to make sure that the centered servo horn is located at the center of the opening of the mounting plate.(which mine wasn't exact but then i will later open the gaps if required. then I used the thin CA glue to glue in the stabs that hold the servos. make sure you soak these tabs with CA glue. After that I used a 2mm drill bit using a dremel I pre-drilled the whole so that the self taping screws will drive in without cracking the wood (i've cracked these stabs on other planes so many time that's why Im doing this :p )

To fit in the servos onto the wings I require to open up the holes on one side since the servo was slightly wider that the opening.

PDF works fine for me.
Thank you so much for going to the effort of doing the manual for us all.
My black/yellow version is STILL sitting in HK (been 2 weeks since i ordered it) at the moment so its great to see your pics and the developement stages of your construction.

Look forward to the rest of your blog.

Cheers
Patrick

Does anybody know how to cancel a bid on e-Bay?
I put in a bid for a “Cowboy Outfit” and it seems I’m only six minutes away from owning the Australian Labor Government !
