Here is a really short video of my baby, sorry it's short but it was a bit windy and I was in work. That was my boss filming it and as you can tell he also like this sort of thing. I still need to chop my motor axels abit and trim her out but that is for another day, I am just glad I have got this far. Please feel free to let me know what you think.

Test flight number 3, a bit windy so just a short video

Does anybody know how to cancel a bid on e-Bay?
I put in a bid for a “Cowboy Outfit” and it seems I’m only six minutes away from owning the Australian Labor Government !

It will be a while before I start carrying camera gear - probably not on this frame. If you don't need the camera mount the 450 gear is great.
Sometimes when I reflect back on all the beer I drink I feel ashamed. Then I look into the glass and think about the workers in the brewery and all of their hopes & dreams.

Well guys I have had some high's and lows and at the moment there are more lows than high's.
First the high's, I have managed to get her in the air, all be it for a short hover, on a couple of occasions.
Now the low's, I have had several problems with the motors.
After a short low hover and landing tried for another takeoff but found that one motor would only stutter instead of revolving. After switching it with another motor and doing a calibration it worked properly again only to suffer the same symptom after another landing.
Next is motors detaching from their base on start up. It seems the grub screws work themselves loose very easily, I intend to use some thread lock on them in the future.
I have lost 3 or 4 props during this and I am starting to think that the motors I am using (DT 750) just aren't performing upto my expectations. I will be looking into getting a motor with a different mounting system. I have a friend who is more knowledgeable than me in these matters and he has taken my baby away to give her a good going over to see if there is something wrong I am unaware of, so fingers crossed. I should have her back by the weekend so will be keen to see what, if any, progress he has been able to make.

Never had a reliability problem with a DT750.
Sometime noisy bearings but always run.

Locktight the bases, pull the shells before you cut the shafts and put them shaft first into the bearings so that they spin freely. Mark the stopping points and balance if required.

I just dremel some metal off at the heavy point to achieve reasonable balance.

That really smoothes them out and should help to stop problems.

Well here is another update on this build.
I have found that when attempting anything other than a gentle manouver in any directions the motors that slow down would almost come to a stand still. I rememered a post here that mentioned end points and decided to try this option out. Now I fly with dual rates on as I don't want to exceed my abilities and decided to give these settings a go.
Ail. 50%
Ele. 75%
Throt. 80% max throttle 100% minimum throttle.
Rudder 40%.
I have a work colleague who has been helping me loads with this project and he deserves a lot of credit, so thankyou Alex. I will try and post a video tomorrow as it is my day off but don't expect any 3D flying, lol.
Oh I just thought of a question for you guys, I am using a turnigy 9x Tx with it's Rx but I am not using remote gain, I fly in hover mode only and would like to know what gain setting is best on the on board adjustment screw on the 344 gyro for more stability , by that I mean the gyro working more for me.
