I run my props down on a 4mm tap then just screw them on to the dt 750s.
Because you're running two ccw you'll also need to use a nylock nut to secure them. The hk board comes loaded with quad firmware for + config. To make it fly x you don't need to reprogram at all. It seems that if you mount the board facing forward, ie rotate 45 deg from +, then set your TX to delta/vtail mixing it flies X. Edited by grits - 14/Jul/2011 at 9:38pm |

Birdy , just ream the props out a little , you can buy a reamer to do this, or if you have a drill press you can drill them out yourself , but if using the drill take a heap of care to keep them centred really well .
It looks a really nice rig so far

Trumpy!
Does anybody know how to cancel a bid on e-Bay? I put in a bid for a “Cowboy Outfit” and it seems I’m only six minutes away from owning the Australian Labor Government ! |

Thankyou for responding to my post, I have just received my parts from Hobbyking through the post and thought I would do a rough test fit. It seems my props don't fit over the 4mm motor arm, being a noobie I am unsure what to do now. All I need to do now is get some bullet connectors calibrate me ESC's and figure the wiring out. I have decided, as I know nothing of programming to abandon the HK quadcopter control board and go with the Gaui 344 gyro,it seems the easiest way to work around the fact that the HK gyro board is + config and I want to fly X config. Here is a picture showing the state of play so far.
Oh I think I am going to get a 5000Ma 20C 11.1v battery for this baby. As for your Tricopter once I have got some more money together I may build one. I love the Treminator movies and would love to build an Ariel Hunter Killer, with a descent body shell to put on it. Edited by B1RDY - 13/Jul/2011 at 11:15pm |

You have lifting power way beyond 855 gm plus battery so usually your current draw per motor is going to be pretty minimal.
I have three dt750s in my tri and run 2200 3s so you could get away with that too, but something larger might be better for four motors. Maybe 3s 3000 - 4000 range would be good, especially if you plan to lift a load of some kind. Its good to get the highest C rating you can afford. That's my two cents worth... |

Hello guys this is my first ever RC build and as it says in the title I am building a quadcopter. So far I have managed to build the frame and ordered all but the battery, which I will come back to later. So here is a breakdown of my quadcopter build.
Frame 10mm x 10mm x 330mm aluminium square tube, giving an end to end measurement of 700mm. I know that sounds big but that gives me plenty of options for mounting the motors. These are mounted on three gaui 450 base plates spaced with 3mm x 30mm bolts with plastic tubing acting as spacers on the bolts fixed with nylon lock nuts. Frame weight as is, 400 grams I am using 4x DT750 750Kv brushless outrunner motors 18amp max current draw with approx 1000g of thrust, weight 78 grams each (312 grams). ESC's are Turnigy Plush 25amp / 35amp weight 22grams each (88 grams). Hobby king quadcopter control board 14.5 grams. Turnigy 9x receiver weight, 39 grams. Props are the HCB-10 10x6's All this is controlled with a Turnigy 9x transmitter and receiver. So my all in weight, without battery is, approx 855 grams if my math is ok. So my big question is with 25/35 amp esc's and 750Kv 18amp motors lifting 855 grams, without battery, what size battery would you recommend? Here is a picture of the frame, part are still being delivered, oh and forgive the rubberbands on the legs, I am looking at either O rings or springs for suspension.
