Can I suggest Blackpool as the ideal location for the UK (North) warehouse?

High unemployment so a big core of potential staff to choose from, fantastic transport links including it's own international airport & it's own motorway (M55 ends at Blackpool) and best of all about 12 miles of flat, sandy beach at low tide to test models on.
Oh, and the model shop has recently closed down after 30 years in business so a storefront on the warehouse would be greatfully received too- especially as many of the local club fliers are coming round to Turnigy batteries and HK motors and ESC's. No need to thank me, of course. Wink

Obviously, business rates and rentals/property prices would be lower than the big conurbations such as Manchester & Liverpool (40 & 60 miles away).

Of course, it would require a good manager with previous staffing and managerial experience and a technical background who lives locally and who can be relied upon to produce results under pressure.

Actually, that'd be me ^^^. Who'd have thought it? LOL

Shouldn't that read:

TongueTongue

Seriously though, although I'm sure the location will have been decided if they are now hiring Blackpool would be great for me as I'm in Preston.

Actually, shipping big stuff from UK to NO can be made pretty cheap. Sussex Model Shop has a 29 GBP (~50USD) fixed price on oversized, up to 25kg(!) boxes to NO via Parcel Force. I got a 120x50x50cm box of balsa shipped like that.

... but from mainland EU - yep.
