I just installed the Flymentor in my 450 size heli. I'm using the new HK 9 channel receiver and a DX8 transmitter. All ther servos are working and the lights on the unit are green, red and orange with the proper switch selection on the transmitter (Aux2). The heli does not respond to any attitude changes, The green light on the unit flashes when on my work table but goes to steady gren when lifted higher. Please help

Moved to the heli forum, this isn't an Order Support related issue.

Uncontrolled contact with terrain is a bad thing.

This is correct...The led will flash green when the light sensor can not see contrast...once the heli is lifted high enough for sensor to see the contrast of your desktop, the led will go solid green indicating position mode (if you move (NOT TILT) the heli left & right...you will see it correct swash plate)...If you then go above a few meters FM will switch to balance mode automatically..This is how mine is working and how I understand it.
Refer to page 5 of the manual for led status. Hope it helped. Edited by Ivan_B - 12/Jun/2011 at 10:32am |

Thanks for your quick reply. I understand about the color of the light indicating the altatude. The problem is the swash doen not move when I tilt the heli side to side or front to back. I get no correction response from the flymentor

Because there are sooo many variables, its hard to know what you have, have not done correctly...to try and pin point your issue.
I will be making a video in the next few days showing setup from scratch...Detailed video showing the heli setup all the wiring, Flymentor setup (prog box & how it relates to software) and Dx6i settings...if you wait a few days, maybe you can follow along and get it going. I'll also show what happens when you do wire it wrong. I could be wrong, but if you copied my setup and wired it exactly like mine, with similar Dx6i settings (I'm sure someone can translate dx6i settings to your TX), the only thing that might differ from mine to yours is the reversing (people use different servos)...and gain values. Otherwise you have to post your whole setup and some has to diagnose it. I find watching a setup is sooo much easier than reading one. Edited by Ivan_B - 12/Jun/2011 at 11:13pm |

No problems
....I have finished recording the video and have started editing it...got titles and stuff to go (lot of titles)If all goes well should be up in the next 24-48 hours. Whilst making the video I think I may have pin pointed your issue...if I'm right its to do with "SERVO REV" anyway the video is very detailed so it should help you out. |
