I would like to build a carbon fiber quad large enough to carry a 5.8ghz tx and camera any help would be great I have read some parts lists posted but they are getting old because hobbyking grows every day with new products..

Heres a really large copter bigger than I need but very cool.

Hi there FPV-Nut

Start by building a "simple" Quadrocopter made from cheap HK parts..
This way you can "get the hang off it" and learn how to fly one.
Just use 15x15mm aluminum for you'r frame. this can realy take a beating !

I started with the wooden frame from HK, but after a couple of weeks, and several crashes I switched to alumunium. It's mutch cheaper, and verry stronger..

The rings or made of a large plastic waterhose ( In Holland it is called "Tyleen")I just cut 4 rings of 20mm each, and they work great as they flex a little during a landing..

Hello, do you have to have a separate speed controller for all the motors or do all motors hook to one? I see they offer servos on the need list, what do the servos do in this setup and how many are needed? I fly helis and planes this is new to me, thanks Randy

1 esc for each motor. servos are used to Pan/Tilt camera mount. you don't need servos for the quad.

I have the Hobby King Quad copter Frame V1. I want to suggest me the best setup. (motors, esc, board, lipo etc). I want to be able to carry heavy camera etc.

Hello all;

Checking in here for the first time. I have just assembled a Talon V-1 frame with four (recommended)      Turnigy 2730 Brushless Motors 1300kv. I am using four TURNIGY Plush 12amp (2A BEC) BESC (also recommended). I just tried to power up for the first time but no light on OrangeRx R610 Spektrum DSM2 6Ch 2.4Ghz Receiver (also recommended). I currently have all four ESCs powering the board. Should I only be using one channel? Throttle channel? and pull the pins on the others?
