you still need a power distribution board unless you are building it your self (9171000033/23140), NTM28-Acc/16719 NTM prop drive 28 series accessory pack for the motors.Do you have enough cables that goes from your KK2 to the receiver if not (258000011/21758) 10cm male to male servo leads.

Auto-landing is a very fancy feature which requires some complicated and expensive flight stabilisation hardware. You won't get any of those features on a basic multi-rotor control boards that HobbyKing sells. In the event of a total signal loss, your quad is going to drop like a stone. But the likelihood of a total signal loss if you're flying within 500m range is virtually zero. Failsafe is a good thing to have, but it's certainly not mandatory for a basic aircraft. If your aircraft was worth thousands of dollars, or was capable of very high speeds, it would be much more important. The 9X is a great transmitter for basic RC, even though it lacks failsafe. Incidentally, if a quadcopter is going to be your first ever RC aircraft, I would strongly advise getting a PC simulator and getting a lot of practice before putting your new baby in the air. Even then, an un-tuned quadcopter can be quite a handful to fly, and your chances of crashing on your first flight are pretty high. Do you have an experienced friend who can help get your aircraft trimmed and tuned? Edited by klaw81 - 16/Aug/2012 at 11:04am |

Thanks for all that advice. I have never built or flow any RC aircraft before. I am specifically interested in building a multirotor as a means to take high quality aerial photographs. So eventually I hope to lift some quick expensive camera hardware. But so far I am just at the research stage. I have got as far as discovering PC simulators and will certainly try to learn the basics of flying on one of these before building anything. Then I guess I have to take the plunge and build something for real. I don't know anyone else who flies these. So unless I can locate someone (in the Newmarket or Cambridge area, UK) then I am learning on my own. Or at least with only the benefit of advice I can get through forums and websites. |

Try to enter a local RC Club, it's the best thing you have to do.
There, look at the guy that flies often and doesn't crash, ...and ask him for some help, sure he 'll be happy to teach you how to! |

And how to place engines and their direction of rotation for Kaptain Kuk's V4.7 firmware and an "+" configuration? Edited by FoxThrottle - 20/Oct/2012 at 11:32pm |

Same as "x" configuration but one hour later, or turned 45 degree clockwise. Fred |

Hi Guys!
I'm probably one of the few girls looking into Quad flying.
I had some experience flying a airplane trainer 10 years ago but I am looking into a solution for aerial video and photography and Quads seems to be the best solution for it these days. I would like to build it myself so I know how the things fits together if I crash it (which I'll probably will a millions times) and are able to customize if needed in the future. I was wondering if the setup below, after spending a few afternoons reading, would be a good learning-to-fly setup. Can you guys take a look and help me straghtening out any issues in the list below? Turnigy 2200mAh 3S 20C Lipo Pack (DE Warehouse) Turnigy Battery Strap 330mm Individual HXT 3.5mm connector for motor/ESC (12pc) Hobby King Quadcopter Power Distribution Board Slow Fly Electric Prop 1045SF (4 pc) Slow Fly Electric Prop 1045R SF RH Rotation (4 pc) HobbyKing Multi-Rotor Control Board V2.1 (Atmega168PA) NTM Prop Drive 28 Series Accessory Pack TURNIGY BESC Programming Card TURNIGY Basic 25A v3.1 Speed Controller NTM Prop Drive Series 28-30A 750kv / 140w Hobbyking X666 Glass Fiber Quadcopter Frame 666mm Thanks a bunch!
