SNAPPY Thanks so much for all this info, it will help in my build. I will be using a Zenhoa 20cc on this Cub. My wing has a 2 inch tear in it when I took it out of the box on bottom side (grey). Any suggestions on a repair to fix this?   Thank You.....you are one talented guy...

Hey stacks, LOL  there is no easy way to  cover up a rip. the best way is to cut the the piece of  film back and patch it with film and paint it a matching colour. If the rip is not in a too obvious place just stick some self adhesive clear tape over the rip.

THANKS  for the info on repair, I was thinking also to put the Dubro 6" balloon tires on this plane..I know it is "over kill" but one of the pilots at our field has them on his large cub and it just looks way to cool.....will be using .60 floats on the L-4 also down the road... Will try and post some picks of it in the future to let you see it....Thanks again Snappy...

Just a couple of small jobs this week (tooth, dentist, pain, and lots of money) The fin and tail plane go into slots on the fuselage and need some film removed also there are instructions on where to put holes in these parts for the rigging wires. I chose to measure thes up and drill before I glued them in place its much easier.

The slot to receive was too wide so I glued come thin plywood either side of the slots to make a snug fit and better glue joint.

I couldnt decide what to do yith the dummy engine the molding in the kit is very basis, there are lazer cut dummy kit available but a bit pricey.
The instructions say to trim the moldings and glue to the outsine of the cowl but the fit is not great.

As there were 3 moldings in my kit I trimmed one and as above you can see its not sitting too well. Soo I bit the bullet and went another route first I cut out the area marked on the cowl.

Then I used the excellent HK two part acrylic glue and glued the mouldings in from the inside I think this looks a bit better and I will add exhaust pipes etc later.

Having glued in the dummy pots I added the air scoops on the top and I made up some exhaust pipes. Initially I tried to bend some pipes but it turned into a terrible mess, so it was back to the good old balsa wood the pictures should tell the story.
