Arms are 12mm (1/2 " ) box aluminium, 270mm long , using 12AWG wire for battery to esc harnesses , 16AWG to motors ,all silicon, bit of overkill for this setup, but it allows for upgrades to more beefy motors in the future as plug and play rather than rewiring .
Base and top plate are 3mm Acrylic sheeting, strong but also has a slight bit of flex . gyros and reciever will fit in between top and bottom plates , Ubec and esc's will be in a rack with air gaps between them , battery underslung between landing gear , leaving front half of top deck for fpv gear etc ![]() |

Does anybody know how to cancel a bid on e-Bay? I put in a bid for a “Cowboy Outfit” and it seems I’m only six minutes away from owning the Australian Labor Government ! |

Simon, you are very astute
. Initially i was thinking of doing a cat flap but then i thought: "wait a minute.... i don't have a cat. For the love of mary, why the hell do i want to do a cat flap? screw that!". As i already had bought the materials, i decide to make a quad . I would love to make a draft of my idea but, since i draw like a 5 years old child, i'm not going to do it. To give "a picture" of it, the things besides the screws are going to be the spacers between the 2 aluminum plates. The plates will be a square of 250x250 mm (9.8 inches) and the "arms" wil have 500 mm (19.7 inches). Both plates will be cut to have the minimum possible weight. I will drill 4 holes in each plate and fixe the spacers with screws (6mm). I will make holes for "+" and "x". What do you think? |

Any drawing will do, an even if sketched on a napkin or a piece of toilet paper (yes i had to do that once).
And Everybody can Draw, mastering it takes time and skills, BUT never the less, a drawing is better than no drawing. Got several napkins lying around with design for paint jobs, planes and so on. ps: a stretch can even help other guys to identify eventual problems Edited by Blind Vision - 07/Apr/2011 at 7:30pm |
