    Posted: 22/Mar/2011 at 3:13am

Hi,

Can someone tell me if the problem with the TT gear mesh have been fix in the new batch. First batch was not meshing properly, and stripping the TT tube gears.

And ... if not, is there a way to fix it(DIY mod).

Thanks

I have 2 of the 500's.

On both the probelm was still there till i also replaced the front tail case with align .

I had tried twice to just replaces the auto and front tt gear with align, both times that didnt fix it, adding a align front case  cured the problem so far.

Okey ....little update on my HK500CMT-TT Smile ...receive from the 23/3/2011 batch

Unfortunately ....the TT gear/Mesh ...as expected ...was ...not goodCry ..about 1 mm off

And ...got a problem with the Torque Tube Front Drive Gear tooConfused ...skipping gear

But ...overall ...i'm happy with the HK500CMT-TTSmile, the heli was well packing, the head look good, main frame, boom, tail, ...even the canopy was ...perfect! ...for $99.99 ...it's still ...a DEAL

I've just order a new Torque Tube Front Drive Gear set, and i will probably just do the DIY mod on the main frame, which involve to slowly extend those holes where the Tail Boom Case is attach to the mainframe. , to give enough play for a nice ...meshingWink

THanks

Its IS the main frame.

I have the same problem!

I replaced ALL but the tail unit of my TT with Align parts thinking this will resolve the issue, however the mesh was STILL no good wtf!!!.

It turns out that the TT is not at fault for the bad gear mesh (Doesn't make up for the bad quality TT and lumpy gears)

I can confirm the fault is with the MAIN FRAME mounting and guide holes for the tail case. Drill or dremel the holes 1-2mm towards the auto gear (the front of the heli) so the TT can slide forward for a PERFECT MESH!!!!!

Not so, I thought same thing early on....

I took side frames from a friend ALign 500 and matched them up with the HK side frames.

Exact in every way match, the frames arent the problem at least with the 2 hk 500's i have.

A align tail case and gears fixed both ... still no problems.

Now with that said drilling the side frames could eliminate the problem but its not the original problem.

Here's my video on the Torque tube issue, and you'll find the Align parts did not solve a thing for me.

The same issue arises on the belt drive, it seems that although a cure is to elongate the frame holes , the actual problem is that the bearing holding the shaft drive gears is set about 1mm too far aft.
Boum999 it seems that your gear is badly manufactured
I must remember .... when inverted .... down is up and up is down .

Looks like, I got happy ticket in this particularly place on the 500cmt belt LOL Gear mesh is ok (with align gears of course). With original gears, it was disaster.  But I just have some suspecting that gears, that come with  HK is a little bit smaller than original. I will receive tomorrow my precise digital calipers and measure it out:)
