Hello,

recently I bought Hornet Formula-1 Tunnel Hull with 540 outboard motor R/C Racing boat.
I read the reviews from other buyers and like many of them propose I replace the stock ESC with Turnigy Marine 120A.
To drive the boat I'm using Zippy 5000 mAh 3S 20C battery. On the first run everything was fine, when on the 10 min the boat stops. The insulation of motors cables was molted, they go short and that dаmage the motor:

Any suggestions why this happen, and witch one from HobbyKing site I can use to replace the stock motor.

Thank you in advance.

Yes !
I am in the same situation ...the Boat F1 doesn' run with 11,1 V - 3S .
It was prepared from the 2S in buyng.
I mounted another motor wich is moore adapted from this boat and from the proppeler where is mounted in factory !
It makes run now with 3S with no problem.
You must make a little modification for the " shaft" because it is 4mm !

Hi guys,
I tried my hornet with supplied esc and motor using my zippy 3s 2200 battery without any problem. Are you sure that water cooling was fine on your boats? My had deffects when I got it and I had to solve them before start, so now it seems no problem. After 5-7 minuts esc is just warm a little, even less then battery.

I have the same boat and I do not recommend it. First time of use, everything was fine. Then, on second time, the ESC did not responded anymore. My friend has one equal like mine and he had the exactly same issues. Then I tryied to buy the Turnigy 120A Marine. Ok, Now boat is running again and I had no problems with Motor, but, I'm serious thinking about buy another one, better to run with 3s Lipo. On the third time I was trying to run this boat, the flexible cable was been broked. Does anyone has the correct link to buy a flexible cacle that fits on this boat?

Thanks in Advance,
