which motor would you recommend for my 68' eflite dhc 2 beaver
a number of people have gone gold turnigy motor

The SK series has better magnets and bearings. The SK 42-50 is a great motor! The other is probably very good too, but I have no personal experience with it.

The SK motor is too big for your plane and it needs a 5S or 6S setup, which increases battery weight.

I disagree, the 68" Beaver has a flying Weight of :4.9 - 6.2 lbs (2.2 - 2.8 kg).

It could fly on a lighter setup but there's alway nice with some headroom and the SK42-50 runs nice on 4S.

A friend (Chris F) has one with a SK42-50 (post #4), check out the video.
