Well it is now official ...the only way out of Casa Trumpenater is by boat, hovercraft, or helicopter... we even made WIN news tonight Cool
This is usually grazing land in the picture , it has never in known history been under water .
Casa T is safe for the time being , but it is now completely isolated by water , about 2K north , 1.5K to the west, 3 K to the east , and 6K to the south .... looks like the pantry might be copping a bit of abuse as shopping is out for a little bit . Today was a bit like Apocolypse Now, as various News services , essential services, and even Ted Baillieu ( The Premier) had a bit of a fly by in their choppers.
I repeat , all is well and hopefully it will peak in the next day or so without getting too much closer ... My thoughts go out to friends, neighbours, aquaintances, and others in the district who are doing it far tougher than us Thumbs Up

Trumpy!
Does anybody know how to cancel a bid on e-Bay?
I put in a bid for a “Cowboy Outfit” and it seems I’m only six minutes away from owning the Australian Labor Government !

Wooow Trumpy, I sure hope you won't get any wet feet and all stays as is and won't get any worse.
The very best to all of you!

It is really strange to see a place like Austalia flooded that much, I refuse to call it global warming, but surely something is happening to our climat.

PS: Are you getting in to RC boats now?Wink

A minimal technical knowledge is required for this hobby; please ensure you know the differences between up and down.

Trumpy watch out for spiders and centipedes, they'll be climbing up everything in numbers you'll be amazed at. The last time we had a real flood I went out the back yard to check something at night in my flooded yard, got chatting to the neighbour and rested my arm on the top of the fence as you do and wham, a bloody centipede got me. Holy hell those buggers pack a whalop. When I shone my torch on the fence to see what had got me I couldn't believe how many of them and spiders there were. Snakes are a good probability too but I'm sure you dont need telling about them.
All my best to you and your neighbours mister T.

Milipedes don't bight (the black ones with the rediculous number of legs) but centipedes (orangey kind of colour, still lotsa legs but nowhere near as many) most definately have a very nasty bight or sting, I'm not sure which but it realy hurt and made me feel a bit crook too. Here's a little bit of info.

Had a welder workin for me, put his glove down to line up some bits then stuck his hand back in his glove........pulled it out quick with a centipede wrapped around his sex finger, he said the same thing......hurt like hell...Shocked

There are many places that need water through out Vic and SA but floods are a bit extreme, at least they have had a bit more warning than the poor buggers up Qld.

This about centipede bights from wikepedia is just scarey.
"

History: The history of a centipede bite is usually standard: the victim typically sees and identifies the characteristic creature before, or soon after being bitten.

Symptoms: Severe pain which is usually in proportion to the size of the creature, local swelling and redness, swollen, painful lymph nodes in the regions of the bitten limb, headache, palpitations or a racing pulse, nausea and vomiting, anxiety, local itching and burning sensations.

Physical findings due to centipede envenomation may include the following: Local swelling and redness, small puncture wounds which may form a circular pattern and the possibility of local ulcerations and necrosis."

Funny you should mention spiders and centipedes LOL
Look what we found today Big smile
Centipedes swim good Thumbs Up

And there are about 7,456,341 Homeless trapdoors , this one is about 8 cm in body length ( bout the diameter of a coffee cup when walking legs spread out ! )

The diameter of land around me is shrinking ( slowly thankfully) will evaluate in the a.m. if it looks like reaching the house . Mate has a neighbour with a Jetranger and he's a phonecall and 20 minutes away as the crow flies  ..... bright side , we could get a free chopper ride ... whoooo hoooo!
( but I dont think it will come to that )
Pyramid Hill has been declared a full evacuation this arvo , lot of older people there , it must be very worrying for them , and yep Dodgey , I am so thankful we have had time to prepare unlike a lot of people up north .

( Ironic note .... Pyramid hill evac muster point has now been moved to Echuca .... one of the places we cant get to LOL )
