It depends what transmitter module you are using.
If you use an Assan 2.4GHz transmitter module then Assan receivers will work. If you use a FlySky 2.4GHz transmitter module (when they're available) then the HobbyKing receiver will work. The 9X transmitter comes without a module so you have the choice. |

Would you recommend the Assan module?

Hello Paulo, The transmitter can be used with 72mhz modules as well as the 2.4ghz ones. The antenna would be required if you used a 72mhz module in the transmitter.

Is there an Assan module that fits the Turnigy 9x. The pins are located at the bottom.

With the Turnigy 9x the Assan ( JR ) module will work as well as the Hobby King Module in the transmitter. The Binding instructions with the Assan Rx's is written on the the back of the Rx packaging.
Remember the Assan Rx's will only work with the Assan Module and the HobbyKing Rx's will only work with the Hobby King Module.
Binding Instructions for Hobby King Module / Rx
The binding plug attaches to the BAT connection of these receivers. You may use one of the channel connectors for the battery or use an ESC (binding might work attached to a channel connector, haven't tried that).
1 fit bind plug and apply rx power. 2 Hold bind button down on the tx while turning on the tx. 3 Hold button until flashing red led on rx and satellite rx lit steady. 4 Power off both tx and rx and remove bind plug. When applying power to both, 1-2 sec later the combo works fine. From the short side of the rx you will find minus, plus and pulse (signal) with the pulse pin towards the middel of the rx.
