Hobby King Forum Users Suggestions for a NEW Desktop PC?

To my friends on HOBBY KING FORUMS

I need a new a PC and thought I would ask you guys for suggestions as a few you seem like a bright lot!

About a month ago I was minding my own business of doing my normal activity of deciding what to buy next from Hobby King.

Then without notice POP, the computer DROPPED dead, both the PC and and the LED Monitor.
Must have got a spike or something, very strange there was no storm or anything around. Anyway bottom line is I need a PC.

My two back-up (old) PC's are driving nuts, just too slow.

I guess I could just go to the local department store (here being oops Smith Powerhouse Electronics or Harvey Norman Computers) and get a salesman to talk me into something, but I thought I'd go the 'New Buy Now' on ebay. From what I've seen there are some good deals to be had, but I'm just not sure what to get and how much to spend. Like what is the best bang for the buck.

I have been to oops Smiths, just yesterday (30th Dec) and the salesman said to wait until about 5th of January when the new models start coming in and they will then selling the current stock dirt cheap. I dunno what to do.

So I suppose I'm asking you guys JUST what should I do?

All I'm after is just a run-of-the-mill Mini Tower with 3.4ghz CPU, 4Gb RAM, 1TB HDD and 23" LCD WS MON.
(I already have all the software I need, OS, office, FLIGHT SIM! etc so that can be left out)

I have $1000 (tax refund) to spend on what you think the best system is.

Here's the BUT: I'd prefer to spend the least possible (say around $600) so I have money left to spend here at HOBBY KING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

B!
