Australians are pretty honest people, and i cant really see a problem with batteries.

I Think you need to have a good look in your own back yard Jason and a lot of these returns wouldn't happen if you had better quality control especially with batteries, I and my freinds buy a lot of batteries and recently we have had many with dead cells, obviously they are not being checked on shipping as per your own FAQ @ this link

http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbyking/store/lipo_policy.html

Now through no fault of my own i brought batteries of you in good faith and am now forced to send them back to china at a significant cost to me, this achieves one thing a unhappy customer.

I would be happy to pay a little more on items for an Australian warranty centre.

peace
ESC's and motors are by far the biggest issue.
It's too easy to break them, and when they break it's very similar to being 'faulty'.
Faulty batteries are easy to support.

I like the Turnigy motors, I blew one up when I jambed 14v in and it was rated for 11Embarrassed but I wish they would stop putting them on a dirty surface after they wind themAngry

And the ESC.....the HK SS ESC......you must be smokin hooch there JasonClap Reseting problems, the last one I got I had to run a seperate BEC as it was a DOA.....but for the $10 I cant see it worth while sending them back.

Batteries, I abuse the hell out of them....leave charged, over dis-charge, half of them set the ballance warning off on my charger and the other puff higher than Grannies Scones but they work well stillBig smile

But them SS speedy's........they got to actually work for you to break themOuch

Jason, you might want to offer a small warranty e.g 30 days etc.

thats plenty of time to figure out if it faulty........,,..//..x

I can imagine now;
"When it arrived it was winter and I didnt use it until summer 3 months later"
"It took me 9 weeks to build the model before I could test fly it"
"Why only 30 days? 'MrWangFlybynite001' on eBay in China offers 3yrs warranty and he's 7cents less"
"The Australian Crybaby Consumer Commission says in Article27, Paragraph 901 that all products must be ...... for 90 days"

30 days, might cause trouble..

Warranty can be a legal Nightmare.

In the EU, for example, all consumer goods must carry a 2-year warranty as stipulated by EC Directive 1999/44/EC, and all member states were required to have it signed into their respective laws by 1 January 2002.

Now if the manufacturer is based outside of the EU, then the responsibility for warranty passes to the importer, which when purchasing from HK International warehouse, is yourself.

However, if HobbyKing pay duties on goods going into the DE warehouse in Germany (and are therefore  'importing'), then under the law (at first glance) they must provide that 2-year warranty for anthing shipped from there to another EU member state.

Confused

True, but the way to push more amps through it, is to increase the voltage. Wink Wink

Confused

That directive doesnt apply to many of our items.
1) LiPo's wont last that long if used every day. Customers are aware of this already.
2) Components are not finished products and can be used in different ways. They're not in a controlled state.

Its really only relative to finished items, like household appliances.

It's actually the heat, resulting out of both.
A minimal technical knowledge is required for this hobby; please ensure you know the differences between up and down.

Amps are not necessary a good thing, it generates heat/heat losses on the way to what we want -power(W).
You control the amps by what load you put on.

Lower the load, raise the voltage and you retain the power (W) but everything runs cooler > higher efficiency.
